Beloved daughter of the late Edward C. and Georgette A. Lehmuth; loving sister of Sr. Georgette Lehmuth O.S.F., George E. (Sue) Lehmuth, Marc A. (Cindy) Lehmuth and the late John M. (surviving Joanne) Lehmuth; adoring aunt of 24 and great-aunt of 33.
Joan always tried to be a good, compassionate, selfless person. We know she succeeded!
She loved her family more than anything else in the world and cherished every moment she got to spend with them, because there was a time when work or care giving kept her from being with them. We hope that she knows that she is forgiven for those missed times.
Sometimes God pushes us to the edge, you must trust in him fully. One of two things will happen, he will either catch you when you fall or teach you how to fly. He caught me many times but thankfully he also taught me how to fly.
Memorial visitation at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church (Kingshighway & Rhodes) on Saturday, March 25 from 9:00 am. until Memorial Mass time at 10:00 am. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery will be held in private. In lieu of flowers contributions to Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help or Alzheimer’s Association appreciated.
My deepest sympathy to the Lehmuth family. I worked with Joan the last 8 and one half years and she was a wonderful person, team-mate and friend. She is greatly missed.

Joan happened to be in our title office (in the Lake of the Ozarks area) years ago. She was in between jobs as a bookkeeper and was looking for a new position. My wife asked if she would be willing to work for us. Joan accepted and it was a perfect match! Not only was she a conscientious worker, she became a great friend to all of us. God bless you, Joan, may you rest in peace. Our love and condolences to all of her family.
I’m sending my deepest sympathy to the family of Joan. I didn’t know Joan, but I do know her beloved sister, Sister Georgette. Sister Georgette is a loving, committed Franciscan Sister and I share our Common Heart and Life with her! I join all family and friends in a common heart of prayer for Joan! She rests in peace!

We are extremely saddened to have recently lost a very special person in our life. Joan Lehmuth to the Saab family was more than just a friend – she truly was an integral part of our family. Dad and Mom met Joan in St. Louis through the mortgage industry. She began working for Dad throughout his many business endeavors and immediately became our Mother, Sharon’s, best friend.
Joan was with us through birthdays, holidays and weekend vacation trips to the Lake of the Ozarks. When Dad sold his real estate business in St. Louis, Joan joined our family a few years later and moved to the Lake of the Ozarks. She again worked alongside Dad and Mom at their appliance store and then later at their commercial real estate business.
In our younger years, we fondly remember Joan babysitting us kids on many occasions. We have so many fond memories. For example, when she took us to the drive-in movie theater. She would dress us in our pajamas, we would jump in her Ford Pinto and then watch the double feature from the hatchback, treat us to sweets and we would get back home far after bedtime. There was also the time we practiced Communion with Coke and Lays potato chips in the kitchen. Or the surprise 15th Anniversary Dinner she helped us prepare for Mom and Dad. As we grew older, Joan celebrated the milestones with us… Award ceremonies, sporting events, theater productions, proms, graduations, weddings, and the birth of our children. These are just a few of the many things that made her part of our family.
Jaime and Joan were especially close. You see, Mom and Dad met Joan just before Jaime was born, and they bestowed on Jaime the greatest blessing that she could not have possibly known at the time… the gift of making Joan her Godmother. This, inadvertently, created a bond between the two that neither one could have known would have been so strong over the next 40+ years. Throughout Jaime’s life, she looked to Joan as a second mother. She was her “person”. The one who provided her strength, encouragement, faithful guidance, humor, love, patience, and truth. No matter when, how or why, Joan was there. This didn’t end when Jaime married and had a son. Joan welcomed Rob and Andrew into her life as if they were her son and grandson. She made them part of that special bond.
Mom and Joan also shared something quite special in friendship over several decades; and their friendship strengthened after Dad passed away in 2007. Even though they lived hours away from each other, they made it a point to speak every day on the phone. This was especially true during the baseball season! Their love of St. Louis Cardinals baseball brought them together EVERY game. They would “watch” each game in its entirety over the phone. Sometimes they talked about pop culture or the game itself, but other times they just sat silent while the game went on knowing the other was just…. there. She was the most amazing friend, and there are no words to express our gratitude to Joan for the unyielding support she gave to our Mother after the love of her life passed.
Joan was so positively unique to our family. She loved and cared for us Saab kids as if we were her own. She would do anything for us. Just as our Dad, she was very faithful and helped teach us the values of the Catholic church. She was funny, loving, patient and so very kind.
Our heart is aching knowing Joan is no longer here living among us, but we are so grateful that we were blessed to have this remarkable woman in our family. We know she is with our parents now having a beer and listening to oldies music up above. We love you, Joan. Say hi to Mom and Dad. RIP.

My deepest sympathy to Joan’s family. I worked with Joan at the title company at Lake of the Ozarks. I was blessed to have Joan as my friend. I went with Joan to a few St. Louis Cardinals games. Including a photo day and a World Series Game. Memories I will cherish forever. I will miss her. Prayers for everyone who’s life’s were touched by Joan.
My deepest sympathies to the Lemuth family. Joan I am lived in the same building and I did not know she passed until I attended the Christ The King fish fry last night. So fitting that the parish we both believed to as children would know of her passing. I’m so sad – Joan and I would often talk and I simply can’t believe she is gone. She is with family who have gone before her, marked with a sign of faith.
I am so deeply saddened to hear of the death of Joan. She and I live in the same building and I had no idea that this happened on Monday. I found out about her death during Christ the kings fish fry last night. How fitting that so many people at Christ the King knew this it happened and were sad. Both the Lemuth and Drain parent’s had their children go to Christ the King and in fact, Mark was in my class. Please accept my deepest sympathy mark at the passing of your sister. She was such a wonderful, sincere person. I enjoyed our talks when I would see her outside, and I was running to go somewhere. I will truly miss her.
