Beloved wife of John H. Schmitz; loving mother of Kyle (Jackie) Lael and Kaylyn (Joshua) Roberts; cherished grandmother of Hudson Lael, Ella Roberts and Luca Lael; dear sister of David (Shelly) Hagenbrock; our dear aunt, cousin and friend.
Services: Memorial visitation at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road on Friday, April 14, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Memorials to Safe Connections , appreciated.

Todd and I both enjoyed working with Patti, she was funny, smart and truly one of a kind. I hope you find comfort and pride in all the many lives she positively impacted throughout her nursing career. We’re so sorry for your loss and will keep you in our prayers.

Captain Save was Truly a First Responder not only at work but in the community and at home. She never saw the color of ones skin, their preference or if their opinion different from hers, she only saw a human being that deserve respect and opportunity to Live Life with LOVE, JOY and PEACE. I feel So BLESS she call me Friend and shared her Beautiful Family with. I pray Sweet Memories will Always Comfort all who knew her hearts and bring a smile to their face as the tears flow from their eyes.

Patti was an amazing woman and colleague. She radiated energy and life. She has left a hole in so many hearts. I am saying prayers for her family and I hope they can find peace and comfort in knowing how much she was loved.
I so loved getting to be part of Patti’s work family! We were assigned many of the same projects so I was fortunate to travel with her, where we had some great times and conversations. She had that contagious joy, and so much humor. I will miss her “Oh Girl, let me tell you…” followed up by something to have you rolling with laughter. While I didn’t know John and kids personally, she talked about you guys tons and was so proud of you all! May her joy and spirit live on in the memories you share and pass down to those grandbabies she gushed about!
I am so sorry to learn of Patti’s passing. She was an incredible woman: dynamic, compassionate, hilarious and a real ball buster. I’ve never forgotten the vacation to Florida me and my mom, Dee, took with her, her daughter and other friends. She persuaded my mom to let me get a nose piercing when we were there, which was a big deal for my teenage self! Patti never shied away from being herself. She was, in a nutshell, awesome. I hope her family can take comfort in all of the good memories people have of her. She was one of the good ones.
Patti was truly one of the good ones- one of the best people I ever met. We volunteered together and ended up working together as well. I’ll never forget being a baby volunteer, nervous and doubting myself in training. I just so happened to sit beside her and once she realized we were with the same organization, she began talking to me. I told her I had a headache and she opened her bag and said, “what do you want?” Just like that- even though I was a stranger.
I loved working with Patti. She was a phenomenal advocate for folks experiencing violence in their lives. She was compassionate and kind and creative and perhaps most importantly, the kind of person who made you feel like she cared about you just with a simple hello. Patti was exceptional and I will miss her.

I am so sorry for your loss. While Patti was my co-worker, I am honored to include her as one of my friends. I so enjoyed my calls with her and getting to hear her gush about her grand-babies while the dogs barked in the background. Her laugh was infectious and will be one of my lasting memories of her. My prayers are with you all for comfort during this difficult time.

My condolences to your family. You were truly one of a kind. Patti was my mentor right out of school in the ICU. I was glued to her side for 8 months and she became my work mama for a long time. The funniest, smartest and most quick witted woman. The world is a better place because she was in it. She will be missed terribly.
