Uncle Jerry provided many great competitive childhood experiences for me. There was always a competition for which family could get the most rabbits or who had the bigger tractor. These outdoor experiences would never have been so much fun without you. There was always many many laughs during these times. Uncle Jerry always gave us the opportunity to visit the farm and get chased by the bull or jump off the top of the hayloft to the bottom or explore the dairy. His love for his family and farming will never be forgotten.

Dear Laaker family,
I am so sorry for your loss! We are lifting you up in prayer, especially today. I wish the weather was predicted to be better, unfortunately the many miles to travel are under a ice warning for our journey home. Stacy and I were packed and ready to go when we realized it was too questionable and had to make the hard decision to stay put. I hope the weather stays safe for you all today. We love you, and miss this opportunity to see you all and give our support in person.
Uncle Jerry was a hard worker and it was always nice to celebrate holidays and birthdays through the years.
I’ll share a funny story. When i was putting myself through college and worked at Sam’s Club in So. County, a man approached me at the Membership desk and asked me… “Are you Jerry or Phil’s daughter?” It was in that moment, I knew this stranger knew of the Laaker men and that I was one of their kin. I never realized how much I look like the Laaker side until this moment. We always thought my Dad looked the most like Uncle Jerry even over Uncle Tom. I will always remember Uncle Jerry had the most amazing blue eyes!
I will always remember Laaker’s Acres as Uncle Jerry’s happy place and that he cared for it so meticulously. Our last visit there was in the fall of 2017 with my Dad. It was a perfect day with our Laaker family.
Deepest sympathies and love,
Beth D.
Just heard the news today about Jerry and am in shock. With his brother’s recent passing, this isn’t fair. Deepest sympathy to Elaine, Laura, Michelle, Jim and the grandkids & great grandkids. If I had known earlier, Gail & I would have been there to be supportive, like Jerry & Elaine ALWAYS were. Jerry was a great husband, father, family member and friend. The phrase “he will be missed” doesn’t even come close to describing Jerry not being around.
