Services: Memorial Service will be celebrated at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois, Saturday, January 22, 12:30 p.m. Bill served on the Webster Groves Library Board for 10 years. Contributions to the Webster Groves Library appreciated.

I often saw Bill while I was out around the neighborhood. While I didn’t know him that well, he seemed to be a kind man and always said hello. My condolences to his family. He will be missed

My condolences go out to the family. Bill was a joy as a friend and coworker. I enjoyed going to WWII weekends with Bill in St Louis as he was a great WWII buff and new great detail of all the equipment and strategies of the time. Bill was a wealth of information in many areas and I will miss him.
I was so very sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. Bill was a colleague of mine for 34 years at Baker Hughes – but more importantly he was a dear friend. I will miss his intelligence, his scientific knowledge, his good nature, his incredible quick wit and humor. Our condolences go out to Mary, Dan, John, and Bill’s brother and sister. Bill was a good friend and fishing companion. Quite memorable were several fishing trips: wading up an ice-cold Meramec River, a float fishing trip down the Green River in Wyoming, and fishing for trout at a high alpine lake on the Grand Mesa in Colorado. I’ll miss Bill but he’ll be in my thoughts whenever I’ll go fishing.

Very sad to hear about Bill’s passing. From the Dwivedy family we offer our sincere condolences to Mary, Dan and John. I was privileged to have known and worked with Bill for 30 plus years. We often jostled each other on many topics, but at the end of the day we respected each other as friends and co-workers. Bill was extremely kind and helping to my daughter during her internship one summer, which she rememberers so vividly. We as a family were fortunate that my daughter, son and I got to work and know Bill. Will miss his wittiness and his friendship.
It’s been years since I saw Bill. We were brothers at the same fraternity. He was a very genuine and fun-loving guy. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. The world needs more people like him… not less.
Bill was a contientious and reliable member of the library board. As chair of the Human Resource Committee he was always concerned about everyone who worked for the library. We had many discussions of the books we were reading, and over the years I was proud to think of him as a friend.

We performed many environmental projects in New York, Colorado, Arkansas and others. We enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Adirondacks In 1981-82 I was lucky enough to bring Bill to Petrolite in Webster Groves. Together with JoAnn McMahon, the three of us were a team that worked so well together and made lots of memories. Bill was one of the most intelligent, kindness persons you could know and I was so thrilled when he met Mary. I was lucky to have you as a friend Bill.

I enjoyed my many years with Bill at Petrolite and became good friends with bill and Mary since Dan and John were born in the same years as my boys and we shared the same Webster Groves pre-school. As a cousin of Bill’s, I have very fond memories of him and the rest of the Kuc family. We all grew up together in a time that seemed so much simpler than it is now. Let me offer my deepest sympathy to everyone who knew and loved him.

I met him and Mary this last year. He was a World War Two buff just like me. They were so welcoming every time and he was so nice and awesome. When I’d come over to hang out with Dan we would always end up upstairs hanging out with him and Mary. I wish I could have known him in his younger days. You left a mark on me in the short time I knew you. Now I know you’re looking over Mary
We just learned of Bill’s passing and are deeply saddened by the news. I was fortunate to have worked alongside and mentored from Bill for nearly 18 years. His scientific knowledge was vast, but his humanity even greater. He was a gentle spirit who cared about other people and would lift them up, whenever given the chance.
Bill was well read and there wasn’t a subject he didn’t know something about that he’d willingly share. He never failed to surprise me in that way. He was a real joy to work with and to talk with, regardless of the subject.
I am a richer person for knowing Bill.
