Services: Private visitation at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, with a private funeral Mass at St. Paul Church in Fenton. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at Kim’s house on Thursday, November 12, 1-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association appreciated.

We are so sorry for the loss of Papa Ken. To meet someone that brought such happiness and light to people is truly an honor and a rarity in life. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers go to your family during this difficult time.

I was really sad to learn of Ken’s passing. He was a really Great Guy and loved by the residents, as well as the Staff of Cape Albeon, where I first met him and Pat!! I would have loved for them to stay here longer with us. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kay Family!

He always made me smile and brought Joy into the room with him. We are so thankful to have shared so many special times and memories.

I loved this man as an “uncle” my whole life. He was so kind, had a Colgate smile, handsome and a dear husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. I’m sorry for your family’s loss. You’re never ready, no matter the circumstances. I pray you find peace knowing he’s in God’s hands and is without pain or suffering. God bless you all. Love from one of so many who loved him.

I just wanted to thank the Kays family for the blessing of knowing Ken. I first met Kim in college. My own father had just passed away. When we would come back to St. Louis I was lucky enough to be invited over for Sunday dinner several times. At that time in my life I felt so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful family. Ken was so wonderful, kind, and welcomed everyone with a smile. You could see how much he loved his family with the big smile on his face. Ken and Pat together represented such love, which is what I had growing up with my parents and I will never be able to thank Kim and her family enough for letting me be a small part of their family. Ken had such a kind soul and I am so grateful he was able to see his children grow into adults, to see and love his grandchildren and great grandchildren. It was always evident that his family meant everything to him and he loved them all so much. I pray he will continue to live on in the memories and in your hearts. As hard as it is to lose such a special person I pray God will bless you all with comfort and healing. Thank you Kay’s family for sharing with us all and giving us the opportunity to know such an amazing wonderful man that will be truly missed.
I only got to interact with Ken in passing in our office building. We would share our appreciation for cars, going outside on a nice day, and being done with work on a Friday afternoon. He always seemed like he was having an amazing day, and always managed to brighten mine. He’s without a doubt one of the most pleasant people I’ve come across in life. I’ll greatly miss him and our conversations in passing. Condolences to the family.
