Robert (Bob) Lind Johnson passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side on April 3, 2023. Bob was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 23, 1936 to Rudolph and Martha Johnson. He had three sisters and proudly attended Cleveland High School, where he formed many lifelong friendships. Bob graduated with an engineering degree from Washington University and went on to earn a Master’s degree from the University of Missouri at Rolla. He spent his entire 30+-year career working as a civil engineer for the United States Army Corps. Bob met the love of his life, Lucy (née Lang), at a young Republican’s dance in 1964. They were married in 1966 and shortly thereafter, began their family. Over the years, Bob enjoyed working on any number of home improvement projects, researching and meticulously planning every detail. A true engineer, Bob was careful and cautious and anticipated problems before they arose so he could solve them at the planning stage. “Measure twice, cut once,” was certainly Bob’s motto. Bob also enjoyed weekend outings with his family, family vacations, gatherings with friends and family, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball games and St. Louis Blues hockey games, and attending the endless sporting activities of his children and grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Lucille Ann, his father, Rudolph, his mother, Martha, his twin sister, Patricia (Schroeder) and his younger sister, Barbara (Justus).  Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lucy Johnson, his children, Paul, Gary, Jennifer (Bruce) Jacobs, and Dana (Mark) Vaughan, his grandchildren, Jeremy (Inman), Madison (Vaughan), Mackenzie (Vaughan), Samantha (Inman), Noah (Jacobs), Noah (Vaughan), Grant (Jacobs) and Parker (Jacobs), his sister, Dorothy (Knoll), his brother-in-law, Joel Justus and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
