56, passed away on Sunday, January 30th following a year long battle with cancer. He leaves his wife of 34 years, Stacy Holdman; daughters Anna, Emily and Olivia; granddaughters Nora and Rhea; parents James and Beverly Holdman; siblings Dennis, Doug and Diann, their spouses and their children; and more friends than we can mention.
He made friends with everyone he met. He loved to be outdoors; fishing, camping, hunting, canoeing, kayaking, gardening, and adventuring. He knew how to have a good time and could find one just about anywhere. He loved to teach his daughters all things he knew so that they could be strong and independent women and they grew up to be just that. He loved to spoil his granddaughters and grand pups. He was a friend to all, a mentor to many, and the Dad that many wished they had, the best husband a wife could ask for, the brother you could always count on, and his parents couldn’t have been more proud of all the things he accomplished in his life.
His life’s goal was to take care of his family and he achieved that goal every, single day. We will miss him dearly every, single day and we are looking forward to seeing him again.
Services; Visitation will be held at St. David Catholic Church in Arnold, on Sat. February 5th from 10AM until mass at 1PM. Interment PRIVATE. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Save the Boundary Waters campaign as the BWCA was his favorite place to be. https://www.savetheboundarywaters.org/

Dear Holdman family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Dale over the last couple of years with NSAI here in Ireland and I can honestly say he was one of the nicest people I have ever worked with. He was generous with his time and help, he was always so respectful and he had great stories!
We will miss him greatly. He was the true definition of a gentleman.

My deepest sympathy to Stacy, Anna, Emily, Olivia, James, Beverly, Nora, Rhea, Dennis, Doug and Diann and extended family and friends in the untimely loss of a gentleman. There are no words, my prayers are with you all during this heart-breaking time.
I had the pleasure to work remotely with Dale and my fondest memories are of the great pride Dale spoke of his family; beautiful & supportive wife, strong & caring daughters, loving & fun granddaughters, finest parents, supporting family members, farming life and taco Tuesday.
He shared his knowledge of auditing and all things medical devices freely. No questions, always there at the end of a Teams call to help no matter what the time zone. We were to meet in Ireland on his last trip unfortunately it was cut short due to Covid. We have lost a dear colleague and friend.
May Dale rest in peace.
I am so sorry for your loss. We were blessed to have Dale as a colleague at work. He will be missed. May God bless and comfort you and your family during this difficult time. I pray for courage and peace for the family. Please accept my sincere condolences.

My sincere condolences on the loss of Dale. As a colleague he was a joy to work with and talked proudly of his beautiful family often. We are so very sorry for your loss.
To all Dale’s family and friends – my sincere condolences. I only briefly met Dale in person, we mostly spoke via TEAMS. His gentle nature, warmth, friendliness and adoration of his family were always so apparent. He was the type of man everyone felt they would like as a friend.
Thinking of you all during this very tough time.
Olivia,
Thinking of you and your family! ❤️ We are so sorry for your loss! We didn’t know your father, but he sounds like he was an amazing person! Much love and prayer coming your way. May God hold you in the palm of His hand!

M sincere condolences to Dales family. Dale was a colleague of mine at NSAI, I always enjoyed our remote chats and found Dale to be one of the kindest people I have ever met. My only regret is never having opportunity to meet Dale in person. His love and dedication to his family always came across in our conversations. He was and still is a true gentleman a really good listener and friend. I will miss him.
Dear Stacey, Anna, Emily and Olivia,
I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to you all on your huge loss.
I first met Dale when I worked in industry, he was our auditor and a true professional.
I then joined NSAI and I had the pleasure to work with him on a number of activities.
He was the perfect gentleman; always willing to help others and so forthcoming with his time.
He truly loved you all, as you were never far from his thoughts, conversation.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Dear Holdman Family and Friends,
My deepest sympathies to you all on the loss of a great man, taken from this world too soon. The loss of Dale is profound and will be felt by many across the world by his colleagues and friends here in Ireland. He was a lovely, genteel, fun-loving man. He always spoke so proudly of his daughters and beautiful wife, and even during is battle over the last year he was always so upbeat and optimistic. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May Dale rest in peace.

Jim, I was shocked to learn about Bart’s passing. Bart was for sure a person that loved and respected the outdoors. Nothing can be said to take away the pain you are going through but hopefully over time we can just remember what a good person Bart was.

Dear Stacy, Anna, Emily and Olivia,
It was a great pleasure to know Dale. He was a kind and gentle soul, who always brought a smile to my face when I spoke with him. I will miss hearing his stories which always made me laugh. He always had a smile on his face when he spoke of his family and told tales of his adventures with the grandkids. His love for his family shown clear in every interaction anyone has with him. I wish you all peace to bring you comfort, courage to face the days ahead, and loving memories to forever hold in your heart.
Dale will always be in our hearts.
Love and Sympathy,
Carol Dudley
I would first of all like to extend my deepest sympathy to Stacy, Anna, Emily and Olivia and all the family and friends of Dale. Like many others I had the pleasure of working with Dale and was first struck by what a funny and intelligent man he was. He spoke often of his family, his life and how much he enjoyed where he lived and what project he was working on or about to do next. He was always especially keen to mention that he looked forward to getting home to see what his ” wife and daughters had planned for him when his back was turned”. He was generous to a fault with his time and his passion for whatever we spoke about was always evident. Although I met Dale only a handful of times he was always some I looked forward to working with and I will remember what he taught me, and the very good times we shared. He made me think about work and life in a different way. I will miss him greatly and think of him often. I hope you find some comfort in the coming days and weeks and things get easier. Thinking of you all at this time.
Tom
Stacy and family, I am so sorry for your loss, my heart and prayers go out to you.
I’m so sorry to hear of Dale’s passing. I worked with Dale at Medtronic. He also recruited me to participate in the local ASQ Section back in 2007. We lost touch after he moved from the area. My condolences are with his family and loved ones as you celebrate him, his life and love gone too soon.
I also was recruited by Dale, Pat Wegerson, and Karen Maskell to join the local ASQ Section. When we hosted the Biomedical annual event, Dale was instrumental in the planning. He was always a join to work with and be around.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family.
My sympathys to. Stacy and family, Dale will be missed. I worked with Dale at BSI. When we ravelled together, we often talked about the families and the BWCA. I am from Edina and I too have travelled with my daughter Emily. Dale will be missed.
So sorry for the loss of Dale. Always upbeat, he was a caring soul and consummate professional. He taught me much, both in our professional and personal lives. I will miss his smile and attitude. My heartfelt sympathies to his family.
My thoughts and prayers are with Dale’s loved ones. Anyone that ever worked with Dale knew that his work ethic was second only to his love for his family and friends. A good man taken much too early, may he rest in peace.
To all Dale’s family, can I offer you my sincere condolences on your great loss. To me he was a valued co- worker, who chatted to all and shared his expertise freely; a pure pleasure to colabtate with. I know he is now at peace. I was privileged to be part of his life and also privileged to “attend” his funeral Mass on line. May he now rest in peace in heaven. Mary Murphy Dublin, Ireland
My thoughts and prayers to the Holdman Family. I am sorry that I never had the privilege of knowing Dale. I have known his parents and aunts on both sides for years. Dale was also a friend of my brother-in-law and nephew. They all spoke so highly of Dale as an all round great guy. It seems he was a devoted family man who loved to laugh and enjoy his loved ones along with the great outdoors. That says to me he was a man of principal with a love for all life. May it be of some comfort to know that Dale brought so much happiness, joy, help and inspiration to those he came in contact with. My sincere condolences on your loss. Terry Hopson Stewart
My sincere condolences to you all for your loss. I worked with Dale at Medtronic many years ago and recently he was our auditor as NSAI is our notified body. He was always a thoughtful and caring guy with a good perspective of what was and was not important. He will be greatly missed by many!
I am sorry that I could not attend Dale;s mass. My thoughts and prayers were with you and the families. I wish I could have known Dale better, but I knew he was the best of the best in all walks of life. I t was always obvious that he loved you and all the family very much. Keep your faith and God will help you get thru this sad time in your life Hugs and love. Dale’s great Aunt Shirley
To the entire Holdman Family,
My blessings, thoughts, prayers are with you. I had the honor of knowing and working with Dale during his tenure with BSI. We were sad when he left BSI to go onto further his career and home life balance. I was very sad to hear of his passing.
Prayers
Lou
The world will never be the same without Dale…. Dale was everything that a man should be. Devoted to his beautiful wife, he was the definition of Best Dad/father to his amazing daughters (who are all perfect examples of what their father instilled in them). I regret not ever really seeing Dale as a “friend”, when Stacy invited me to the house that first evening I met Dale- I met FAMILY. Dale took care of everybody (myself included), he was beyond smart, he was compassionate, he was funny (especially when he sailed with the captain ) and most of all- he knew the Lord. He was, without question- one of the greatest men I ever had the privilege to meet. Rest in heavenly peace, my brother.
((Stacy, Anna, Em, and Libby— I love you all sooooo much))
