Hill, Richard “Dick” Wilson unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, April 30th 2023.  He was born on March 5th, 1946, in St. Louis to the late Woodrow and Elizabeth (nee Gidley) Hill.  He grew up in Bonne Terre, Missouri and graduated from Bonne Terre High School.  After he graduated from Southeast Missouri State College, he moved to the St. Louis area. During that time, he obtained an MBA from Saint Louis University.

Dick worked for the U.S. Army Materiel Command in various project management and leadership roles supporting the Army’s logistics information systems.  He retired with 35 years of federal service.  Afterwards, he worked for several years as a contractor supporting the Army’s logistics modernization program. In his retirement years, he resided in Waterloo, Illinois.  It reminded him of his hometown where he grew up.

Beloved husband of Laurie (nee Block) for 30 years.  Loving father of James (Melissa) Hill, Denise (Alex) Haire, and Rich (Natalie) Hill.  Dear grandfather to Gabriella, Lana, Isabelle, Chase and Alexandra. Dear brother to Philip (Lynn) Hill. Dearest son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Dick loved helping people and lending a hand whenever he could.  He enjoyed the outdoors, whether on the road or close to home, watching wildlife in his backyard lake and feeding the hummingbirds. He also enjoyed reading, sharing interesting articles, and playing with his puppy Roy. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.  He always took the time to touch base via text or phone call.
