Beloved son of Larry and Louise Hermannes, dear brother of Dennis Hermannes and the late Jeanne’ Campbell, dear brother in law of William Bock and the late Sandra Thompson.
Mike married the loved of his life, Lisa Hensley (Bock), in 1998. They later adopted Logan and Brittany. Their family continued to grow and became known as the Hermannes Zoo, with the constant additions of rescue cats and dogs.
Mike served 4 years in the US Coast Guard 1974-1978. He later settled in the I.T. field at Mercy and MasterCard.
He was known best for his love for sports, life, family and his infectious laugh. In family tradition, he enjoyed bowling and golf. While he enjoyed playing softball his passion was coaching—especially when it was a winning team. He most enjoyed gatherings with family and friends, especially when a competitive card or poker game was involved. Always a big kid at heart, Mike enjoyed shopping for presents for nieces and nephews and later great nieces and nephews. He was an avid St Louis Cardinal and Blues fan and fondly loved his hometown of Affton.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p:m.; a service will be held afterwards. He will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks.

I worked with Mike at SDA and Mercy, and have bowled and golfed with him. I enjoyed every single interaction with him, both at work and personally.

I was part of his softball team he coached in the past. I played on his team for at least 10 years. Yes, he was very competitive, as we consistently took first place in the many leagues we played in. He had put one hell of a good, fun team, together. I’m so glad I was part of it. I have so many memories, but will only list a few. One time I went to Florida with him in the late 80’s to visit my parents and play golf. We had the time of our lives, playing on one of the top 10 courses in the US. Setting up my brother with the exploding golf ball was a highlight. Make and I were behind setting it up and it went perfect. It was hilarious. Most recently, me and my brother(deceased 2/6/21 from Covid) and Mike would play online golf every Sunday at 7PM sharp with 3 way phone calls. It was great to catch up each week on what was going on in everyone’s lives. And as you would guess, he kicked our butts most of the time we played. I will miss him dearly. I have now lost 2 of my best friends left on this planet in the past 4 months. Our (Deb and I) thoughts go out to his entire family, Yes, that infectious laugh. I’ll never forget it.

I had the pleasure to work with Mike when he was at SDA and I at MAI Basic Four. He was always happy and a very sincere and caring person. I miss his laugh and good mood.

I was saddened to hear of his passing. I was introduced to Mike during an interview for a position in PTS (Mastercard) by my former, now retired manager. Mike was so friendly and willing to help others. My deepest condolences to his family.

Hey punk! I’m sorry I couldn’t get up in time to say goodbye in person. I have so many memories. I’m going to miss you at the holiday’s and birthday parties. Because of you, I try to continue the tradition of finding the most obnoxious, noisiest toys for my own nieces, as you did for us. The kids always loved to see you and all the pets. Poker won’t be the same without you. I wish we’d had more games together. Glad you got the military honors. Uncle Mike you’re going to be missed!
