Herbold, William L.  Age 75, Monday, November 30, 2020. Beloved husband of Janet M. Herbold (nee Johannes); dearest father of Heather Herbold; loving grandfather of Thomas and Hannah; dear step-father of Tammy (Adam) Morgan, Debby (John) Hylla and Denny (Heather) DeGreeff; dear step-grandfather of Wil, Reid, Grace, Andrew, Tyler and Chase; dear brother of Leah (Larry) Shoemaker; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

William was born to Raymond E. and Gladys Marie Herbold  in Sistersville, WV. He graduated from Sistersville high,  then went on to attend Marshall University.  He graduated from Southern College  of Optometry in Memphis, TN then was drafted into the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant and served as an optometrist.  After honorable discharge from the Navy, William established practice as an optometrist and was in practice for 53 years. William had many interests and skills. He was well known across country as talented gunsmith and woodworker, and he could fix anything. If there something was broken or needed repair, the grandkids would always say “Paw paw will fix it”.
