85, of Blue Springs, MO, peacefully passed away on January 2nd surrounded by loved ones. Leroy was born in 1937 to Melinda and Henry Grote in Black Jack, MO. After Leroy graduated from Ferguson High School in 1955, he worked at Interstate Supply Company where he met Gay Missler. Leroy and Gay were married in 1958 and had three children. He joined the Army and served in the National Guard for five years. After working in sales at Motorola Communications for 34 years, he retired in 1998. His favorite hobbies were boating, scuba diving, model airplanes, trains, gunsmithing, and ham radio.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents. Leroy was beloved husband of Gay, loving father of Michelle (Dan) Bell, Mark (Joanna) Grote, and Melissa (Greg) Mesko, adoring grandfather of Abby (Tom) Spence, Jessica Schornheuser, Lauren (Alan) Beistegui, and James (Hayley) Riegel, cherished great grandfather of Wyatt, Morgen and JL, treasured sibling of Warren, Rita Seay, Paul, and David, dear brother-in-law of Betty, Don, Sandra, Pat and Roger (Mary) Missler, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Memorial Service at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
