Billy Joe Grider, 83, Of Saint Louis, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021, at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Festus Missouri. He was born February 5, 1938 to John H Grider and Modest Christine (Nolen) Grider in Deventer, Missouri. Family moved to , Columbus, KY in 1947 where he completed grade school at Benton Grade school and graduated from Kelly High School in 1958. He will be missed by all his loving family.

He was a staunch Christian and a proud Union Laborer for over 59 years. He married Rita Aileen McArthy in October 1971. While the marriage lasted only a short time, divorced in September 1976, he had three children, Carson, David and Pauletta. During his retirement years he was involved in the church and local charities which included going international, Jamaica, to build homes. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs.  Also, he was a huge St. Louis Cardinal fan.

He is survived by his 2 sons and 1 daughter, his 2 grandchildren Kevin Brian Mergelkamp and Alyssa Alleen Mergelkamp, his 4 brothers Joh H, Lee Edward, Larry Wayne and Charles Franklin and 1 sister Geneva Sue (Byers). He was preceded in death by both his parents and 1 brother Donald Eugene.

Services;  Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Friday, 3/12 from 3-7PM then to; McMikle funeral home (201 South Center St. Charleston, MO 63834) for visitation on Saturday, 3/13 from 10AM until service at 12 noon. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery (Charleston, MO)
