St. Louis – Patricia Ann (nee Scahill) Greiner, loving wife of 61 years to Dave, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023.
Pat was born July 29, 1938, in St. Louis, MO to Florence and Harry Scahill. She is survived by her husband, Dave; her children Dave (Lori) Greiner, Carl (Laura) Greiner and Donna (Kevin) Herr; her grandchildren, Kristina, AJ, Anthony (Rebecca), Kim, Zachary (Brenna), Geoffrey, Tommy, Sarah and Tim; and great-granddaughter Adelynn.
She is a beloved sister to Harry (Nancy) and the late Bob (late Kay), late Rich (surviving Jeanine) and late Nancy. She is survived by sister-in-law Susan (late Bud) and cousin Karen (Jay).
She has many names – dearie, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, cousin, friend – and is loved by all. Pat graduated from St. John’s High School in 1956 and maintained a close relationship with high school friends through the years. She was engaged in 1959 and after being married in 1961, she and Dave began a family. She was a stay home mom who instilled in her children the values of love, thriftiness, and compassion. She was frugal, could be feisty, and was a loving care-giver, while never knowing a stranger as she greeted everyone with a smile and open arms.
She found joy in spending time with her family and friends, playing games, traveling and simply being with people. A special thank you to the many people of Laclede Groves for the loving care and friendship they have offered and supplied. In lieu of flowers or memorial gifts we encourage you to spend time with family and friends sharing stories of Pat.
Visitation will be held at Kutis Funeral Home (10151 Gravois Rd., St. Louis, MO 63123) on Friday, January 20 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, January 21 at St. Margaret of Scotland (3854 Flad Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110) at 10:00 AM with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

I met Mrs. Greiner through her son Carl and after 2-3 family events she became Mom Greiner. I was always greeted with a big hug & kiss, enjoyed her laughter, and appreciated her sense of family. What a treasure.
Carl and the rest of the Griener family my heartfelt thoughts and prayers to you all during this time. My a life well lived and all the wonderful memories bring you happiness, a smile or laugh, and peace.
From the time I met Pat Greiner, at my wedding shower for my upcoming wedding to her and David’s nephew Kenneth M. Christopher In 1970,. she showed me nothing but love and kindness, she and uncle David became my good friends, as well as family, as we got together with them and Doris, David’s sister and Less, Uncle Dick and Aunt Izzy to play party Pinochle at each of our homes, they were such good times, memories I will always treasure. I thank the Good Lord for her and her wonderful family.
Pat was a very special friend of our entire family and a highschool buddy to our Mom. She was a very bright, intelligent woman and extremely sensitive. She will be missed by many, but the Lord needed a Great Lady in His camp and Pat was called.
Love from the Clawson s.
So sorry for your loss. I had a nice visit with her at bingo when I was back there in March.
Our condolences for your loss, Dave. Lori and family. It is wonderful to read about her life that was full of love, fun and family. Her spirit lives on in all of you!
I met Pat & Dave in a prayer group thru St Gabriel’s church in 1999. I remember her smile & her kindness towards all. She openly shared her faith which was an inspiration. My sympathies to Dave & her family.
Carl and I walked to St. Gabe’s grade school together for many years. Often, after school. After school, we’d play catch or step ball or roof ball. I remember going to the Greiner home to play ping-pong or pool on the convertible/combo table in the basement. That is where I first met “Mrs. Greiner”. She was so kind, sweet and soft-spoken.
Decades later I moved back to Gabe’s to raise my own kids. Dave Sr and I went in retreat together many times. Mrs. Greiner went on retreats with my wife Libby. We both loved her. She would light up a room with her kind smile and inspire others with her faith. I am thrilled that she has found her place in heaven but I am sure her passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all her family and friends. She will always be fondly remembered. May God grant peace the Greiner family!
So very sorry for your loss. Mrs. Greiner was always a lovely lady and so nice. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
Dave & Lori,

Dave, Lori, and family. It was my pleasure to meet and chat with your lovely Mother at the St. Margaret Gym countless times when she was there to support her grandchildren at many of their games. She was an absolutely delightful and Godly soul. She will be missed dearly.
