of Webster Groves, MO, passed away peacefully at Delmar Gardens South, Tuesday, January 22, 2019. Dear husband of  Lenore Olson Glore, dear father of Julie Lackey (Tim), Andrea  Binsbacher (Robert), Susan Gilles (Richard), loving grandfather of Calvin, Simon, Margaret, Henry Lackey; John, Ellie, Audrey  Binsbacher; Matthew, Lindsay Gilles. Preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Jewell Glore, brother LeRoy, sister Paula  Edgington; dearest brother of Betty, Irma, Joy, Brenda, and Bob, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

John was born November 8, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri.  Growing up in South City, John was a 1961 graduate of McKinley High School and remained a lifelong dedicated Goldbug. He played football for legendary Coach Jules Blanke on his four championship teams. Making the 1960 All-State Football Team, John was awarded the KXOK Prep Player of the Year. John  graduated from Truman State and received his Master’s in  Education in 1965. He was a member of the Bulldogs MIAA Championship Football Team, proudly wearing number 52.

John began a long career as a high school administrator in the Orchard Farm, Ft. Zumwalt and Pattonville School Districts,  receiving his E.ED. from the University of Missouri, Columbia, in 1984. In 1981 he was honored as the Missouri Principal of the Year. Upon retiring from high school administration, he became president of the Missouri Association of Secondary School  Principals. Following his retirement he served as General  Studies Principal at Bais Yaakov High School and Curriculum  Coordinator to Torah Prep.

John was an avid golfer for many years at Bogey Hills Country Club. A yearly highlight was the annual Truman Bulldog football reunion where he enjoyed time together with his former  teammates. Family vacations in Minnesota with children and grandchildren were his greatest joy.

Services: Visitation will be held at Kutis Funeral Home, Affton, 10151 Gravois Road, 63123, on Thursday, January 24, 2019, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Kutis (Affton) on Friday, January 25, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation,  Pattonville Education Foundation, or charity of your choice.
