Gaddy, Susan A.

(nee Krull) Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Beloved wife of Leon Gaddy for over 51 years. Dearest mother of Eric (Jamie) Gaddy, Steve (Mary) Gaddy and Shelley Cook. Mother-in-law of Keith Cook. Loving grandmother of Carlie, Kimmy, Rayden, Allison and Belle. Dear sister of Linda (Don) Staten. Our dear sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend.

Susan was born on September 9, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from St. John the Baptist in 1964 and went on to attend St. John’s Mercy School of Nursing where she graduated in 1967 as a registered nurse.

Susan married Leon June 27, 1970 after meeting at Willard and Bev Solomon wedding 2 years earlier.  They welcomed Eric in 1974, Steve in 1977 and Shelley in 1981. She later became the proud MawMaw of 5 Grandchildren.

Susan’s professional career consisted of working at St. John’s Mercy and St. Anthony’s Medical center in the Oncology unit, which she loved! Susan was a loyal and dedicated nurse who practiced compassion and empathy.  Susan retired in 2008 after 41 years as a nurse.

Susan loved camping with her family and friends, playing bingo every Sunday, long drives with Leon, going out to dinner, dancing to her favorite sound Proud Mary and talking to Linda every single morning.  More than anything Susan loved watching her grandkids grow up.  She loved to attend their sporting events, watch their performances and to bring them lunch for their birthdays.
