Fortune, Marilyn L. (nee Rauch), baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection on October 31, 2020.

Marilyn was the daughter of Edward and Esther Rauch born in Belleville, IL. After graduating from Belleville Township High School in 1954 she attended St. Louis City Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in September of 1959. It was in 1956 while in nursing training that she met her husband of 53 years, John H. Fortune. There were married June 21, 1959.

John and Marilyn have 5 children, Mike, Chris, Laura, Sharon and Tom, 3 grandchildren Jesse, Maddie and Stephanie Fortune and one great-grandchild Sawyer. Marilyn worked as an RN for 46 years, retiring in December of 2005. She enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and bridge but found time to be President of the St. Louis City Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association for a number of years, President of The Crestwood Womens Tennis League for 4 years, usher of the Repertory Theater and usher of the St. Louis Aces at Forest Park. Most of all she enjoyed sporting events and theater events of her grandchildren. She touched many lives and will be missed.

Service: Funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois, on Friday, November 6, 10:30 am to St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, for 11:00 am mass. Inurnment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, 4:00 to 8:00 pm
