Carol Fay Forney, 76, of St. Louis was promoted to glory on January 29, 2023 at 9:45pm while in her home in Arnold MO and with her youngest daughter.

Carol was the third youngest of seven children to Loy and Hazel Yount. She is preceded in death by her father Loy, mother Hazel, brother John, brother Lonnie, brother Don, brother Ronnie, daughter Heather, and husband Jerold. Carol is survived by her brother Wayne, sister Laverne, sons Shawn (53, Houston TX) and Scott (51, Orlando FL), daughter Shannon (43, Webster Groves MO), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol Fay was ordained as a minister in The Salvation Army in 1967 as a member of the Witnesses to the Faith session. She married Jerold Forney on June 15, 1968 and the two were wed for 54 years.

Fay was known for her kindness, patience, and dedication to her family and the gospel. She loved to read, research antiques, decorate for holidays, garden, and travel. She was also known for her quick wit, positive disposition, and unassuming mischievous streak.

Carol and Jerry retired in 2011 from their final appointment as pastors of the Anacortes WA. Salvation Army. They returned home to the St. Louis area and began attending the Gateway Citadel Salvation Army as their home church.

Carol will be remembered for her joy, wisdom, and faithfulness. She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and those whose lives she touched over the years.
