Beloved son of Edward c. and the late Margaret Florian; loving fiance’ of Laura Krumm; adoring father of Brad and Melissa; dearest brother of Susan (Dave) Marler and George (Kelly) Florian; dear uncle, great uncle, godfather, cousin and friend to many.
Ed was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a long-time soccer coach.
SERVICES: Funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd., Tuesday, June 9, 9:30 AM to St. Matthias Catholic Church for 10:00 AM Mass. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Corporal Donald Marler Memorial Marine Scholarship Foundation. Visitation Monday, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
He had a heart of gold…A man who loved the sport of soccer…he loved teaching the girls…was a true friend & I will always remember the good times we shared. My deepest sympathies to all his family.
My condolences to Ed’s family and friends. It was my pleasure to have worked with Ed at the SIUE East St. Louis Center years ago. I was saddened to see the University’s announcement of his passing. He always had a smile and a wave for me whenever I was back on that campus, and that is what I will remember.
Ed was a very caring and loving individual. He will be surely missed by all that had the privilege to know him in the SIUE family. RIP my friend.
I used to work with Ed at the SIUE East St. Louis campus. He was always so friendly and was proud of his kids. He talked about them often and also enjoyed coaching soccer. He was excited about his engagement. He will be missed by those that worked with him and all who knew him.
I was Ed’s supervisor at the ESLHEC for a bit over eight years and he was a great fellow to work with. Ed was quiet in demeanor, but steadfast in his work efforts and he contributed significantly to the campus. I can honestly say that in those eight years I never heard him utter an unkind word about anyone. Rest in peace, Ed, and my sympathies to all the family.

I was a new employee at the SIUE/East St. Louis Center, and Ed made me fell welcome. He was always available to help and would stay until the job was done. He will definitely be missed. Sending prayers to the family.
