David R. Flores of Crestwood, MO, passed away peacefully on August 14 in his home.Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marilyn (nee Raubach) Flores, children Christopher (Christy) Flores, Matthew (Georgina) Flores, Deb Flores (Kevin Rapp), Curtis (Angie) Flores; grandchildren Christian, Colin, Justin, Anabelle, Olivia, Maygan, Izzy, Emma, Katie, Elliot and great-grandchild, Mina. He was brother to Daniel Flores and the late Patricia Flores, and much loved by decades of family and friends.
Born in Atchison, Kansas to the late Manual and Ernestine Flores, he loved playing football for his high school, Maur Hill. He met Marilyn in college and they built their family in St. Louis where he spent much of his career as a truck driver for Schnucks markets. Later in life his attention turned to his rescued greyhound, Bella, showering her with love.He valued his family beyond measure, and in a way only Dave could express he often said “If you ain’t got family, you ain’t got sh…!” His family loved him greatly and will miss his big personality. Dave would appreciate a shot of tequila done in his memory. Salud!
Services: Memorial Visitation on August 18 at 10:00am with Mass at 11:00am at St. Elizabeth of Hungary. Luncheon to follow in the parish cafeteria. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Greyhound Companions of Missouri.
