Entered into rest Sunday, December 18, 2022 at the age of 78.

Born March 22, 1944 to Mabel and Norman Fitzwater. George attended St. James the Greater Catholic School, Christian Brothers College High School, St. Louis University, and Washington University Olin School of Business. George was a respected member of the St. Louis business community, working for Manchester Bank, Mercantile Bank, Huttig Sash and Door Company, US Bank and Central Bank from which he retired as CFO.

Beloved husband of Rita “Cookie” Fitzwater; Father of Amy (Fred) Stuckel, John Kayser, and Tom Kayser; Grandfather of Abby Malle, Maddy Hummel, Ellie Kayser, Jamie Lampshire, Jason Kayser, Ellie Stuckel, Trey Stuckel, and Peter Stuckel; Brother of the late Doris, Marian, Virginia, David, and Eddie; dear friend to Lisa Kayser; dear uncle, cousin, and friend to so many.

George loved to golf with his friends at Sunset Hills Country Club, he was a patient and excellent BBQ master, a Lions Club member, but mostly loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Later in life he moved to his favorite place, Manasota Key, Florida where he loved to take walks along the beach with Cookie and spend time with his beloved neighbors. George was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Englewood. Grateful thanks to his caretakers; Robin, Bree, Melvie, and Mariah.

Services: Visitation at Kutis Funeral Home 10151 Gravois Road, Thursday, February 16, 4-7 PM. Mass at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, Friday, February 17, 11:00 AM, Celebration of Life to follow with details coming.
