Passed unexpectedly and peacefully at his home in Cahokia Heights, IL, on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
David was born on August 21, 1965, in Granite City, IL. He graduated from Oakville Senior High School in 1983 and went on to attend Missouri State University where he graduated in 1987 with a degree in
Construction Management Technology. David’s playful personality and loyalty were among his best traits and made him loved by many. He loved Dirt Track Racing, fishing, gardening, movies, Blue Grass & Country Music and traveling with friends and family. He loved being an uncle to 3 nephews and 5 nieces and great uncle to 7 great-nephews and 3 great-nieces. His patient, gentle personality made him loved by kids. Since his Dad’s passing, David took great care of his mother and helped maintain her home, garden, yard and all handyman projects.
David is survived by his mother, Virgie Mae Finn of Oakville; brother Steven Thomas Finn (Charla); sister Karen Mae Eisele (Bill); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Louis Finn.
Services: Visitation for David is scheduled for Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 4-8 pm at Kutis Funeral Home at 5255 Lemay Ferry Road. The Funeral Service will take place at the same location Friday, February 17th at 10 am in the Chapel and will be immediately followed by a graveside burial ceremony at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL.

Dave was such a great guy. He is definitely going to be missed every time I was around him he would always make me laugh. He was one of a kind. I’ll never forget the day back in 82 when we took our senior picture and he was standing up in the back row on the far right, and he was only a junior that cracked me up so much still do this day my condolences and God bless the whole family. May he rest in peace

Dave was a great guy and i’m glad I can keep the good memories of us growing up on the circle in East Peoria and our trips to the races in Springfield. You guys are in our prayers.
Peace and comfort to Virgie, Steve and all of Dave’s loving family.. Dave was a gem and so happy I was his friend. His commitment to fun and adventure was contagious. Grateful for the many memories made with him and my children. Always ready to lend a hand but hold one when he needed. RIP., Super Dave, my true friend.
Dave was a good and gentle soul, always. We shared lots of time during wrestling season and other high school adventures. I believe he protected me when I wasn’t looking; thank you. I’m sad he’s gone, thankful though, I got to host him several years ago at my house. RIP my friend. Love to your family.
Dave was a great guy. He always had a smile on his face at wrestling practice. He helped makes those workouts fun. Prayers for all of the Finn family. So sad to lose a teammate so young.
“Big Daddy” David Finn. What a wonderful man this guy was. Like many, I am somewhat sad to hear of his untimely departure, yet understand God’s calling to come home awaits us all. I find comfort in thinking that David sits with buddies like Mark Guilin and Eric Tindall in a place where five-pound bass are caught at every cast and laughter erupts continuously as reminiscing about Oakville adventures are still the highlights of these wonderful relationships. I will never forget the time David danced with a wooden chair to Elvis Presley’s song Jail House Rock and literally brought the house down at Shooters 21, Lake of the Ozarks or the time he slept on the roof of his house because, “It was too darn hot inside there last night,” nor will I ever forget David suited up like a stock car driver behind the wheel of a pig roaster acting like he was winning the race and fending off other driver with sound effects and all. These memories cannot be erased from my mind and I find comfort in knowing someday we will all be together again dancing to that Jail House Rock. I love David “Big Daddy” Finn.

Plenty of bold personalities to go around New England Town but Dave was and still is at the top for me. So many good memories that will last a life time. Celebrating the life of a great friend.
