SERVICES: Funeral at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Road Thursday, December 15, 10:00 a.m. Interment J. B. National Cemetery. Contributions to the charity of your choice appreciated. Visitation Wednesday 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
I know words can’t heal as time will and the presence of others helps to soften the blow so I wish that I was able to give you a hug in your time of sadness. Our son has his first concert on Wednesday night which prevents me from being there but I wanted you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
As we grow older and are faced with mortality true friends and the bond we share with others is more important to me than any material possession this world can offer. I only wished I had realized this sooner. The friendships I had in grade school and high school were some of the truest I have known and sadly it has taken me most of my lifetime to realize that. And to think all these things my mother and grandmother tried to teach me when I was young. And that makes it even harder to see them and all their wisdom and love leave us but I know that their hope for us is to carry all they have taught us to be able to pass it along to our children and help them to be the beauty and love that was given to us.
Hug each other much and often, as I’m sure you do, and not only in your time of need but also especially in the moments of gratitude and love and know that I am hugging you now in my heart.

Essie was one of a kind. She was straightforward, honest, fair and kind. She had a good heart and was my friend. We had many good talks and laughs together and I cherish every one. Her love for her family was fierce and strong.
My deepest sympathy to you Becky, Tommy and sweet Karlee. Hang on to your many memories. They will help you through the tough times.
I loved her dearly. Rest In Peace my friend, I will miss you.
I could not make it to the wake, I had to work. My prayers are with all of you. She was a cool gal. I know you will miss her, but now she will be that angel on your shoulder. God Bless.
