Engelhardt, Delba (nee Hartle) 87, passed away May 17, 2016

Beloved wife of the late Gene Engelhardt, dear mother of Diane (Matt) Heinicke, the late Jon (Carol) Engelhardt, Elaine Kimker, Mark (LeeAnn) Engelhardt, step-mother of Richard (Karen) Engelhardt; devoted grandmother; loving great-grandmother.

Delba graduated from Patton High School and earned a B.S. in Education from Southeast Missouri State University. She taught Home Economics at Lutesville High School and Parkway North High School where she served as department chair. Delba served as president of Home Economics Teachers of Suburban Saint Louis and Home Economists in Home and Community. Delba loved helping her husband in his local and international service to Kiwanis. For her dedicated service, Delba received the Kiwanian Wife of the Year, the George F. Hixon Fellow, and the Kiwanis International Foundation Tablet of Honor awards.

But most importantly, Delba was passionate in her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Delba’s maiden name was Hartle. When she married she became an Engelhardt. She loved having “heart” in both her names. She gave all her heart to her family and now will always live in their hearts.

Services: Funeral at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois, Saturday, May 21, 11:00 AM. Interment St. Paul Churchyard. Visitation Friday 4-7 PM.
