Born July 10, 1942, passed peacefully on August 3, 2021 at the age of 79.

Son of the late George and Dorothy Elchinger; loving companion of the late Ellen McCarthy; dear father of Julie (Michael) Frank, Jenni (James) Green and Amie (Ron) Cordsiemon; adoring grandfather of Joey, Ryan, Ronnie, Jacob, Faith and Sophia; dear brother of Nancy (Don) Schmid and Rose Gonos. He was preceded in death by his sister Carol Snyder and brother-in-law Dan Gonos.   

 Rich served in the U.S Army and was stationed in active duty in Hawaii during the birth of his first daughter.  He retired from Procter and Gamble after 30 years at the age of 55 and enjoyed part-time work on the train at Grant’s Farm.  He loved bowling, golfing, tennis, fishing, playing cards, watching football, baseball and horseracing.  He would also belt out a tune when hearing his favorite songs.  He was known for his good sense of humor and his amazing bar-b-que. 

 Services: Visitation Friday, August 13, 2021, 10:00 a.m. until Memorial Service 11:30 a.m. at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Road.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery.   Memorials to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital appreciated.
