Interment J.B. National Cemetery.

I was sadden to hear of Vernon’s passing. I enjoyed visiting with him and hearing how much he enjoyed his family. I am sorry that I am out of town and will miss his funeral.

I am so sorry to hear of Vern’s passing. He was such a great guy.
Uncle Vernon had a calm demeanor, a soft chuckle and the rhythmic cadence and pleasing accent of St. Louis. I had not seen him since 1990. Each time he picked up my phone call i was taken back to my childhood and we were off and running playing “Do you remember….?” He was 10 years older than I am yet we shared warm memories of family, friends, homes, neighborhoods, stores, theaters, parks, sports, big bands, WWII.
We will all miss this kind and honorable gentleman. My deepest condolences to his immediate family who took such loving good care of him.
