Diemler, Christopher Patrick, Monday, March 8, 2021. Beloved husband of Claire Diemler (nee Fischer); loving father of Henry and Lucy; cherished son of Sandra and the late Iven Diemler; dearest brother of Keith and Jeffrey Diemler; dear son-in-law of Kathleen Fischer and Theodore G. Fischer Jr.; dear brother-in-law of Theodore C. Fischer, Theresa (Charles) Dobson, Catherine (Travis) Cearley, and Ann Fischer (Michael Buchheit); dear uncle of Grace, Dorothy, Fischer, Luke, Sunny and Joe.

Chris was defined by his love for family and friends. He shared many stories of growing up in Lee’s Summit. Chris talked about the excellence of his father, the patience of his mother, and the broken bones, competitions, and love of his brothers. He would do anything for Claire’s family and they loved him. Chris was a kind, loyal, and generous friend to many people throughout his life.

Chris spent his days showing his love to his wife and children. He was amazed by Henry and Lucy and was always thinking of them. He was a talented chef and each gourmet meal was an offering of love. Chris loved taking the kids to the beach where he would jump the waves with them in his arms and swim them to the sand bars. He would spend hours with Henry building Legos and playing Nerf gun wars. When Henry was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, he vowed to fight when I didn’t know we could. He became an expert in standard of care, clinical trials, and advocacy. Chris filled his daughter Lucy with love. He cooked her special dinners when she didn’t like what was being served. They tore up the rug at yearly Valentine dances. He let her practice flips and gymnastics on him. Most importantly, Chris spent time with his kids and believed in them. Henry and Lucy adored him.

From the beginning of our life together, Chris never gave up. He loved me in good times and in bad. He was fearless and protected us and we knew we were safe with him. We could count on Chris to stand up for us. He was the best father and most generous husband. I will miss talking with him each night about our days, and our children, and our plans. I will miss the fun and joy the four of us shared. He was gentle and strong. He was my partner and teammate. Chris was my loyal and true friend. He cannot be replaced.

Chris spent the last year of his life working at home with his children to keep them safe and healthy. As we celebrate his life, we ask that visitors follow all COVID-19 safety precautions by remaining masked and six feet apart.
