Age 46, Asleep in Jesus on Monday, January 17, 2022. Beloved husband of Johannah DeLunas (nee Ulmer). Dearest father of Rory DeLunas and Maren Ulmer. Loving son of Les and Patricia (nee Conley) DeLunas. Dear brother of Adam DeLunas and Christina (Sam Houston) Cheeley. Special uncle of Austin and Allison Cheeley, Arlo, Mickey, Jack, Liam and Olivia Ulmer, Viola and Josephine Schmidt, Keaton Osterhage and Maddie Hartman. Son-in-law of Daniel and Denise Ulmer. Our dear brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend.
Services: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Thursday January 27th from 3-8PM. Then taken to Trinity Lutheran Church (Soulard) on Friday January 28th for visitation 11AM until time of funeral at 12 noon. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, checks may be made payable to Rory DeLunas, to be placed in an Educational trust at a later date, or donations to the National Kidney Foundation appreciated.

My deepest sympathies to the family. He was a couple years younger then me at Hope Lutheran Grade School. I believe he was in my Sister’s class! I have only but good memories of him from chuldhood! May your grief be short but your memories long!!!

Brian was as good as it gets, a voice of reason and great sense of humor, loved being a husband and Dad. I’m thankful- as anyone who knew him – for getting the opportunity to get to know him, and pray for his family to find solace in their loss.
Rest in peace Brian, you were always a joy to talk to, even as you struggled with illness you were still a wonderful guy and didn’t let your struggles show. You will be missed but not forgotten.
Brian, anyone who ever knew you is mourning your loss. You were such a good man…I loved working with you in my time with the pirates. You were a great coach, coworker and friend and we just got along so well. When it came to coaching you had it all…a great baseball mind, a progressive thinker and the ability to relate your expertise to the kids. Throughout my professional baseball career I never had a coach as good as Brian. He was the best. Not just because of baseball but because of the type of person he was and how he made you feel…I will miss you my friend. R.I.P.

Very sad to hear of his passing. I’m praying for his wife, son and entire family. So young! His passion for baseball, cars and his family will live on in those who knew him. Until everyone sees you again. Rest in Peace! Larry
It has been an honor and a privilege to know Brian and his family. I was fortunate enough to provide childcare for him as a toddler. I treasured our time together; especially catching fireflies on the porch swing. He was our ring bearer. What an exordinary man he became. He touched all of us. I will always remember Brian as that blonde haired sweet baby angel that hid behind Les as he walked down the aisle. God bless you and your family.
Brian’s legacy and impact even beyond baseball is incredible. His reach is very much with us here in Charlotte, North Carolina. You all will be in our thoughts all spring. Strength and prayers to the entire DeLunas family. Please let us know if there’s ever anything we can do for you all.

Brian was my real dad. Not by blood, but because he chose to be. He changed my life by being the only person who asked my permission to be a part of my mom and I’s lives forever when I was only 6. I have always remembered him sitting me down and saying he loved my mom and I and wanted to marry her and be my dad. He is the only father I have ever known, and he is the only one I ever want to. He sacrificed so much to take care of us, and I will live my life thanking him for that every single day. I miss him so much and I love him so much… He was my hero.
