Coleman, Mitch E. entered into rest on Monday, June 29, 2020. Beloved husband of Kimberly D. Coleman (nee Rainwater); loving father of Tyler A. Coleman of Los Angeles, California and Casey L. Coleman of Arnold, MO. Dear son of Paul and the late Ruby Coleman . Dear brother of Mark (Laura) Coleman and Mike (Jackie) Coleman. Dear brother in law of Brian (Lauri) Rainwater and Eric (Dawn) Rainwater. Dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Mitch was a skilled maintenance worker at the school district of Clayton.
Services: Visitation at Canaan Baptist Church 5409 Baumgartner Road St. Louis, MO 63129 Thursday, July 2, 2020 4 to 8 pm. Then on Friday, July 3, an hour of visitation 12 pm until service at 1 pm. Interment Shepherd Hills Cemetery.

Dear Kim, Casey, and Tyler, I am so very sorry for your loss. Mitch was such a wonderful, kind, gregarious, and funny gentleman; truly one of the good guys. I will remember him as the person who lit up the room when he walked in, and never knew a stranger. May he rest in peace, and you have a lifetime of beautiful memories of him.
Mitch is a person you never forget. His stories, laughter, love for family, friends, and music. Most of all, his love for his Savior and Lord and the gentle reminder to be kind to each other and take someone to church with you.

Was so sorry to hear of Mitch’s passing. He was always such a kind and cheerful person. My thoughts and prayers are with Kim, Casey, Tyler and the rest of the Coleman family.
Mitch was the guy who kept everyone smiling. I will miss our daily conversations and jokes. He was a great guy who worked hard. No matter the challenge he smiled and said no problem.
The Clayton School District Maintenance Department will never be the same. Mitch touched a lot of people in the School District making many friends along the way.
We shared the same passion for motorcycles and often chatted about our experiences. He always said his wife Kim was a Saint for putting up with him. I believed heaven has just gained a new soldier to stand by the side of Jesus.

I was just heart broken to hear this. Mitch would always bring a smile to my face when he came into the gas station. I know how much he loved his family. My heart is going out to all of you.

I just came upon this very, very sad news.
Mitch was a legend for my boy/girl twins who attended Glenridge School. Whenever he was crossing guard for their walk to and from school, they would yell ‘HI MITCH!!!’ in unison. They loved him because he clearly loved them – and all the kids. Once, my daughter announced that she had seen MITCH at Glenridge doing some work and was astounded (star-struck) that he remembered her and said ‘Hello!’ to her in his usual delightfully warm way.
If we were driving past the intersection where he’d be assisting kids, my kids would say, ‘Roll down the windows!’ and they would yell ‘HI MITCH!!’ while waving at him, which was the Best.Thing.Ever.
It became a secondary tradition that if there was someone else (!) at that intersection, we would still roll down the windows and yell ‘HI MITCH!!’ because it was his spot in our world regardless of who was there.
He was clearly a very, very special person and the world will not be the same without him. He will never be forgotten. And each time I go by ‘his spot’, I will say hello to him in my heart.
