(nee Seitz) Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Sunday, September 9, 2018. Beloved wife of David M.  Coleman, Sr.; dear mother of  David M. Coleman, Jr., Michele (Chris)  Kimball, Jeffrey (Julie) Coleman and Jaime (Jason) Istre; dear grandmother of Taylor,  Lauren, Isabel, Anna, and Ryan  Coleman, Matthew, Noah, Jacob, Amelia Kimball and Baby Istre (arriving May 2019); dear  daughter of the late Frank and Kathleen Seitz; dear sister of  David (Kristine) Seitz, Frank Seitz, Sue Ellen  Velez; dear  daughter-in-law of the late Nathaniel and Vesta Coleman; our dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to many.

There are no words that could describe the life of the most selfless person that we have ever had the honor of loving and to be loved by, our mom. And if you met her or was touched by her then you understand.

She adored her husband and spoiled him rotten for  50 years.  They met in the service during her time of rebellion in which she enlisted in the Marine Corp. A Missouri city girl and a West Virginia country boy from two different worlds a chance meeting ending in a beautiful love story.

She raised her family to live life to the fullest, love beyond measure and always dream big because what you could dream for yourself, she would dream bigger.

She was everyone’s mom. Our friends didn’t call her Mrs. Coleman, maybe Mrs. C but when it came to it she was mom to them too. She was a team mom for baseball spending most nights at Khoury League fields. When she wasn’t at ballfields she was driving to dance recitals or taking us to the library.  She was probably the best room mom there was, in fact when friends found out she was the room mom for the parties they would cheer. And when we were grown, she carried out the tradition by assisting with class projects and buying goodies for her grandchildren’s classmates.  She opened her house to all of our friends and didn’t turn anyone away if they wanted a bite to eat or a snack.

She was also a big kid at heart. She was the first one to get the new Disney movie that came out ensuring that she had a copy and so did her kids and/or grandkids.  She loved Harry Potter and made sure she was at the opening night for the movies at the Theatre.

She lived for the holidays. She was always the one that made sure that her office was decorated, our dorm rooms were decorated, the house was decorated and even that we were decorated. Holiday sweaters or turtlenecks and even funny headgear she made it happen.  Traditions were important to her like decorating the tree together as a family even when we were grown.  One could not go over to the house especially around Christmas time without hearing her hum or sing We Need A Little Christmas.

She was a Marine and loved going over to the commissary to shop every weekend bringing her grandkids treats. And when the BX had superhero series she made sure that her grandsons were there to enjoy it each time.

Most importantly, she loved the lord and the Catholic faith. As a child she told her mom that she wanted to be a nun so she could save the world. Though she did not become a nun, we believe that she has played a part in saving the world by instilling this type of faith and love in her children and grandchildren.
