died peacefully at home after an 18-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis on Wednesday March 4, 2020. At the age of 59. Ed is survived by his father, Sherwood Carter of Affton, Missouri; his wife Patty Carter, sons, Dan  (Lauren) Carter and John (Christine) Carter, and grandson Jackson Carter. He is preceded in death by Mother, Ruth Ann Carter.

Ed was born on November 8th, 1960 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Sherwood and Ruth Carter. He graduated from Affton High School 1979 and Ranken Technical College with a degree in Automotive Maintenance and Welding. He married Patty, his high school sweetheart in September 1983. Together Ed and Patty had 2 children, Dan and John, who will remember him as a hard worker and always encouraged them to pursue their goals.

His career included 15 years as a welder and ended with a career working for AT&T as an outside cable and fiberoptic repairman. Ed was an avid Blues Hockey and Cardinals Baseball fan who never missed a game. In his prime, Ed, was a real outdoorsman who loves to fish, hunt, and go four wheeling as long as he had a case of Milwaukee’s Best Light with him.

A visitation is scheduled for Saturday March 7th at 5pm with a memorial service to follow at 6pm at Kutis Funeral Home-Affton, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ed’s life.  The family would like to thank all the family members and friends who have provided a significant amount of support over the last several years and more specifically the last few weeks. A special thank you to Heartland Hospice who showed their dedication to Ed in his final moments. Ed generously gifted his body to Saint Louis University School of Medicine Center for Anatomical Science and Education.
