Betty Ann Buchschacher was born on May 3rd, 1937 in St. Louis, the daughter of John and Margaret (Werner) Abeln. She was received into the kingdom of God through the waters of Holy Baptism on June 13th, 1937 at Timothy Lutheran Church in St. Louis, where she later confirmed her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She attended Lindenwood Elementary and Southwest High School in St. Louis.

She was united in marriage to Jack Buchschacher on May 26, 1956. They spent over 65 years happily married, shared a beautiful life together, and had one son.

Betty was an exceptional wife and mother, serving faithfully as a homemaker. She and Jack were charter members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Crestwood. She enjoyed playing games, doing puzzles and spending time with her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her husband Jack; son Mark (Cindy) Buchschacher; grandchildren Sarah (Travis) White and Joey (Jessie) Buchschacher; great-grandchildren Kayla and Braylon White; and brother Richard (Dottie) Abeln.

She was preceded in death by her brother John (Mabel) Abeln and sisters Hazel Jane (Frank) Noyes and Mickey (Paul) Griebel.

We know that Betty is resting peacefully in God’s arms, where she belongs, though she will be sorely missed by those of us on earth. Services will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 12:00 noon at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (8646 Sappington Road, St. Louis, MO 63126), with visitation at the church starting at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
