Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON Chapel 10151 Gravois, Monday August 16, 9:30 AM to St John Paul II Catholic Church for 10:00 AM mass. Interment Lakewood Park Cemetery. Memorials to Oakland House at the Affton Historical Society appreciated. Visitation Sunday 4:00-8:00 PM.

I met “Chuckie” when we were 10 years old in the same class in Bonner Springs, KS. In high school we starting calling him “Chuck.” There was a popular “Charlie Brown” song and maybe then some of the kids started calling him Charlie; but to me he was always “Chuckie” until our 50th reunion. He brought his wife, Barbara, who mentally didn’t really understand where she was. Charlie was lovingly by her side throughout the evening. He was a devoted husband. I still can’t totally grasp that he’s gone and I won’t get to have another conversation with him. I am just so grateful for that last conversation we had after his sister, Greta, died. I went to Mass this morning and I could feel that Charlie is now in Jesus’ loving arms. Pray for us, Charlie!

Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. We go back to 1970 or so, or maybe a few years later. I came to EBS from a shoe store in 1966 with Tom Dawson coming out of a different shoe store I think that same year. You will be sorely missed. Elaine & I enjoyed your visits to Topeka when you returned to Bonner Springs for Christmas. Give Kenny Bales – Tom Eaton and the other BOMBERS up there big hugs when you arrive up there. They have all has missed you too

Charlie Brown- words cannot express ths joy this man brought to me and all around him- he always had a smile on his face. He loved everyone and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. I ‘ve shared many a happy hour, concerts, birthday parties, 25 year dinners, retirements with he and his late wife Barb who I was so blessed to work with side by side on many a project. Fun was always the order of the day when CB and Barb were around. His christmas card to me last year said “see you at the 25!” This world has lost a true gem of a human being. So long, CB – now you can join the love of your life, Barb. I shall cherish all of our shared experiences.
I have know and been close friends with CB since like 1970. I was the best man at his and Barbs wedding.We were good riends but as far as politics went we were on the opposite side of the isle. One time when we were having a discussion he brought in a life size card board cut out of Bill Clinton into our favorite watering hole just to aggravate Jack Hattenbach and l
can still see that, I got you, CB smile on his face. What can I say, one of a kind and I sure miss him. Damn!
Chuckie was our Special Cousin in the Brown Tripkos Family. My Sisters and I were very excited when he was born and couldn’t wait to carry him as a baby.We watched him grow from birth to college and afterwards always reading a new book and learning, especially about the history of our US Presidents. He loved his favorite sport teams and loved talking about our sports teams.He was fun loving kind and thoughtful to his older 3 Cousins and in his travels Chuckie and Barbara would always make an effort to spend time with us either in Calif,Arizona,Kansas,and Georgia.
