I don’t know if I can express in to words how much Ramon meant to me…but since I moved out of state in March, I don’t know that I will be able to attend his services so I’m going to give my condolences and share what I remember of Ramon here. He was one of my absolute favorite residents (I’m not sure if we’re supposed to have favorites, but he was mine)! Ramon had so much feist and spunk in him even during his “golden years” I have so many memories of him, so many calls to Robert and Carol about his care! I remember asking Carol once I don’t know if he’s back in college or what? She asked what do you mean? I said he’s saying Alpha, Betta, Delta…that is when I learned he was a pilot. He would hide a lot in closets and bury himself with clothes almost like hide and seek and laugh once we found him. He was a hard one to track down and keep down. I say that meaning once he couldn’t walk any longer, he still managed to attempt to walk. He was a strong man with a great love. Ramon had a special place in my heart and I believe I had the same in his heart. He could be spunky at times but I could always calm and divert him (that comes along with confusion). I called him “Popi” because to me he was like my own family. Thank you Carol, Robert, Ramon Jr, Cristina and Nicole for sharing your father with me. He made it very hard on me to leave that facility as his nurse for a promotion with another company but a wise person told me if you don’t leave him, he will eventually leave you (that was my grandmother, whom has since passed, she gave me that advise about Ramon specifically). With this being said know Ramon would want everyone to be happy and know that he’s watching over all of us. Rest easy Popi. Te amo seimpre!!
Such a gentleman & wonderful stories he shared with us at his Wildwood Y exercise classes.
Carol, I recall the beautiful, huge cake you brought in on his Birthday. He made sure everyone got to partake & even had you send Max & I a piece home with us.
May he R.I.P.
