I know my brother and Reenie talked about him frequently and the storytelling must have really been something when the two of them gathered. I mentioned to my brother that he was fortunate to have an in-law family with which he had a strong and loving connection. That same togetherness, love, warmth and humor will certainly help you with time to turn all the wonderful memories you have of Tony into a smile on your face in those moments when you miss him. So sorry to hear of Tony’s passing,he was s good man and friend who I became acquainted with through the CYC and whose brother Tom introduced me to my wife to be. RIP my friend.
Tony was a former district chair of the South County CYC (Catholic Youth Council) and a member of the Archdiocesan CYC board. His leadership and friendship will be greatly missed. He volunteered his time and talent so that many children could be play sports.
I’m sure he is organizing a league up in heaven.
Tony exemplified what a Catholic man is supposed to be.
Tony served our country in the war and kept in touch with many of his war buddies often going to reunions. He had great stories to tell.
Only the good die young.
We will miss Tony and will keep Kathy and Tony in our prayers.
Kathy and family – so sorry to hear of your loss. Tony was someone who always left you thinking, “what a great guy!” John had referred to Tony as “a fine gentleman.” We all remember him, and you, as a pillar of our parish, Mary, Mother. May he enjoy eternity with Jesus and celebrate with the contingent from Mary, Mother who have proceeded him. Praying you each receive the peace and comfort only the Lord and his mother can give and that Tony wants for you.

Tony Bommarito, a man who will be missed by many. It was my great pleasure and honor as the CYC (Catholic Youth Council) Sports Director for the Archdiocese of St. Louis to have worked with Tony for over a third of a century.
Whether it was as the parish soccer director, the South County CYC Soccer Chairperson, District Hearing Board Chairperson, District Vice-Chairperson, District Chairperson, Member-At-Large on the CYC Executive Board or working part-time at the Msgr. Meyer Youth Center.
Tony was devoted to the program and trying to make it better. He was in it for the youth of the Archdiocese.
I was happy to have called him a friend.

I met Tony Bommarito at Grants Farm. I listened to all his war stories and when he worked at Affton during the summer games. I loved his stories! He had such a wonderful life and was always so happy! I will miss you Tony so much! Sincerely, Linda Meyer

Very sad to hear of Tony’s passing. We started at the USO the same day and worked together for over 10 years. More recently, we both worked at Grant’s Farm. Great, great man. My condolences to his family, whom I never met, but felt like I knew through Tony’s many stories! God Bless you Tony. Thank you for your service to our country and for showing all of us how to be a better human being.

I was so sorry to hear about Tony. I didn’t know him personally but from all of the condolences you received he was a fine man and I’m sure you were proud to be married for so many years. This is so hard and I wish I could make you feel better in some way, but grief has to work at its own pace. Call me any time if you need to.
We send our deepest condolences to Tony’s wife and family. We are so very sad to hear of his passing. He was a volunteer at the USO of Missouri and such a joy to work with. We enjoyed having him be a part of our organization. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
Tony and I worked together for years on the same shift at the USO. He was always very positive about the military and our country. He was a joy to be around. I especially enjoyed listening to him about his many experiences over the years. He was especially positive about his CYC work.
I will miss our conversations about life in general–we lost a wonderful human being.

I started working at the USO in Aug 2013 and my first permanent shift was the second Tuesday of the month from 10am-2pm. This is where I met Tony and for the next 8 years I worked along with him and others on that shift. I truly enjoyed seeing him each month and talking with him. Listening to his stories and jokes. He was a great veteran and volunteer. God bless him and this great country we both served.
Kathy, We are deeply sorry to hear about Tony. We just found out about his passing through TonyF who he himself just found out. You both were so nice and a joy to be around when our boys were growing up in grade school . Your family will definitely be in my prayers. We would have come to the memorial if we had known.
