Passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the age of 69.
Beloved son of the late Robert B. and Betty J. (Higgins) Blankmann; dear brother of Toni L. (Bob Weiner) of Houston, TX, and Carol A. Hendricks (Rick); loving uncle of Katie Truxton (Dave), Gregg and Susan Uptegrove; dear great-uncle of Tyler, Lexi and Ava Truxton; cousin and friend.
Jim was a member of St. Wenceslaus Parish since 1953. He belonged to the St. Wenceslaus Men’s Club, oversaw the ushers, and often volunteered where needed. As a member of the Tower Grove East Neighborhood Association, Jim frequently helped with their Fourth of July booth. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1973, worked for Brown Shoe Company from 1973-1980, and retired from Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in 2019 after 30 years in the Maintenance Department. Jim loved his beagles, the family farm, wildlife, gardening and collecting things. He had a kind soul and was a friend to many.
Services: Visitation and funeral Saturday, October 15 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 3014 Oregon Avenue. The church will open at 10:00 a.m. for visitation and Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the St. Wenceslaus Annual Fund or Humane Society of Missouri greatly appreciated.

Jim was a good friend of my late husband Michael Lovellette. And a groomsman in our wedding. They sure had some good times back at Roosevelt high school. May memories comfort his family and may Jim Rest In Peace.
Jim was one of my friends in high school where we hung out and even bailed hay at his families farm.
Always in a good mood and our driver in his VW Bug that we cruised in through high school.
He is a good person and will be missed.
Toni, Carol and family, Our condolences to your family. The last real memory I have of Jim and Bob is a Blankmann lunch in St. Louis several years ago. Always a gentleman. Good sense of humor. We celebrate his life.
Dearest Toni, Carol & Family,
During this time of sadness, may God continue to strengthen and encourage you.
May you find comfort in the memories you shared together with Jim.
Dear Toni, Carol and family. I am so sorry for your loss. No doubt he is smiling and loving being reunited with Betty and Bob in heaven. Jim was a fine considerate polite gentleman who certainly will be missed. I too remember lunch with him, Bob and other cousins at Biggies some years ago. Great memories.

Had many beers with Jim at Bailey Brothers Bar & restaurant. We always had a few laughs talking about the old Roosevelt days. Always had a smile on his face. Sadly we haven’t talked in the last couple years. He will be missed by all that were fortunate to know him. My condolences to the family. RIP old buddy.
Jim’s suffering is over.He was a great support for his Dad in his Dad ‘s final years. He loved his farm and he loved his Beagles Sassy and Clara Bell.Prayer and thoughts to his dedicated Sisters Toni and Carol.
We are so very sorry for your loss. “Jimmy Jeep” was a good friend who will be missed.
I’m so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you. I only have happy memories of all those weekends we spent together at the farm. I remember Jim walking barefoot to the river & we never figured out how he could do that & the many rides he gave us to & from the river in the old trailer. A little bumpy but he always got us back up to the house safely. Sorry I’m unable to attend tomorrow but you will all be in my thoughts & prayers. Big hugs to you.
Jim was a loyal parishioner Wenceslaus Catholic Church, i remember seeing him every Sunday in the back of church greeting you as you entered he will be missed ,may his soul rest in peace amen
Please accept my sympathy for the family
Saint Wenceslaus won’t be the same without Jim.
