86, died on Monday, February 8. Devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Carol Betz (nee Balossi) for 66 years; loving father of Barb (Rich) Pfuhl, Kathy (Jeff) Wolff and Karen (Tony) Brand; proud grandfather of Jennifer (Josh) Duncan, Abbie (Carl) Rose, Becky (Tim) Fehrenbacher, Clayton (Emily) Wolff, Denei and Piper Strgar; and dear great-grandfather of Henry, Miles and Grant Duncan, Vera and Judith Rose, and Dalton Wolff.

Faithful father, grandpa, Papa Billy, uncle, cousin and loyal friend to everyone he met. Following his service with the US Marine Corps, Bill started his illustrious career at Proctor and Gamble, eventually moving into the restaurant business, founding Jeremiah’s in the early 70’s. He then expanded into frozen custard, opening The Custard Station in the heart of Kirkwood, still serving loyal customers every summer. He was blessed with many great friendships over the years and could often be found outdoors, working in the yard, listening to the ballgame, or enjoying a cold Budweiser.

Bill was one-of-a-kind with a personality to match. He will be greatly missed.

Services private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary or Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
