Bertchume, Harold “Hal” in the Lord’s Care Tuesday February 28th, 2023. Beloved husband of 65 years to the late Lorraine Lillian Bertchume (nee Judd); devoted father of Gary (Laura) Bertchume, Steven (Marie) Bertchume, Susan (Cliff) Collins and Christine Wren (Mike Lawhorn); proud grandfather of Catherine (Julian) Oppenheimer, Michael (Laura) Riley, Joseph Wren and Chad Collins; great-grandfather of Race, Scarlett, Julian II, Sadie and Miles; dear brother-in-law, uncle and good friend to many including dog friends Missy and Maggie.
Services: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63129) Monday March 6th, 2023 from 10am until the funeral service at 12pm. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital appreciated.

My heart is sad over the passing of Hal. I will miss his special greeting and the way he always made me feel a part of the family. My deepest condolences go out to each of you and I send my thoughts, prayers and love as well.

Please accept our sincere condolences. I always felt like I was in the company of an old school Hollywood actor when talking with Hal. He had the gift of gab and a heart of gold. I am thankful to have known him. Our prayers go out to all his family .
Hal loved most all sports, especially his beloved hometown teams. His appetite for The Hill & quality sitcoms from the sixties & seventies were legendary. But more than anything he loved his family and wide-ranging group of friends. Life was lived fully by Hal and the lives of the people he met along his journey were greatly enriched!
The Bertchumes were neighbors to my grandparents, John and Thelma. When staying with them, the Mrs Bertchume and the kids and I would walk to church on Sunday. Good memories for me. I’m sorry to hear of Mr. Bertchume’s passing, but he is once again laughing and dancing with the love of his life. My condolences to the family.
