Beloved husband of the late Virginia Ann Baese (nee Larson); loving father of Laura (Jim) Maschhoff and David (April) Baese; adoring grandfather of Allison and Paul Maschhoff and Sarah and Jacob Baese; dear brother of Elaine (the late Jack) Shearman; our dearest uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
SERVICES: Visitation will be held at Peace Lutheran Church (737 Barracksview Rd., 63125) on Thursday, April 27th from 9:00 am until the service time at 11:00 am. Interment at Our Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Lutheran High School South appreciated.

Roy had a smile and spirit that lifted everyone up. He was such a joy to work with at KPLR. I met him as a new on-air personality, not long after I met my husband-to-be, Ted Koplar. He knew how to make me comfortable in front of the camera.
He was at our wedding, 48 years ago with his beautiful wife, Ginny. I continued to work with Roy for many years. The quintessential and award-winning photographer, Roy brought incredible humor to his work. He always had us laughing, and I looked forward to every job with him. He was extremely talented and creative, and, yet his quiet humility and sweet and understanding manner made him very easy to work with. I will miss him and that winning smile.
The world has lost a great man, but the heavens are singing Hallelujah!
My condolences to you, Dave & Laura, and to your children who will miss their wonderful, jovial & loving Grandpa. He is with his life’s sweetheart now, your incredible Mother, and I know Ted is happy to welcome Roy home, too.
