50, passed Monday, July 5, 2021. He leaves his wife of 27 yrs, Tamara (Womble) Appleton; sons Joey and Jake Appleton; mother, Judy Appleton; father, Gary Appleton, Sr; brothers, Jeff Appleton and Gary Appleton, Jr; sister-in-law, Katie (Kneff); nephew, Mateo; nieces Sara and Elle and friends.
He completed the Ironworkers Apprenticeship in May, 2001. Growing up he loved playing softball and riding dirt bikes. Later in life he loved fishing, hunting, taking his boys boating and coaching his boys sports. Recently, he enjoyed his time at their property in Centerville, MO.

Joe was more than a friend to our family, he was family. He will be missed and never forgotten. May God watch over his family.

Joe was a strong and brave guy I knew at Windsor High School. Everyone I know respected him and I know he was meant to be with Tammy. I remember his presence and strength. People will slways remember him for so many reasons. He was a good man. Much love to his family.

Yes it’s such a tragedy he was so young. To me Joe will always be that little spunky neighborhood kid. We always had a special bond because he became an ironworker also. My deepest sympathies to his family you are in my prayers.

I’ve only spoken to Joe a few times in life….it makes me want to know my family more. My prayers and deepest sympathies to his wife and kids. Such an amazing person. He was such a ‘I got your back” kinda badass kid growing up. Was always ready to be into mischief but also such an awesome kind of person. Made you laugh but hid so much from everyone. Will be missed by so many he touched in his short time with us. Fly high pain free my friend. I had known Joe from the time he was in 2nd grade. He was a great kid and grew into a very good man. He spent his time on this earth; living out loud and loving his family.
