Will always remember the fun times growing up hanging out with my cousins. The Appelbaum summer picnics were always a highlight of the summer. I remember Joe’s easy going demeanor when we would rough house during christmas get togethers at Dorthy and Joe’s house. Being the youngest of 4 brothers we were a handful for anybody. But he didn’t seem to mind to much. Remember watching family videos of Joe and Dorothy’s family vacation down in Florida that Joe taped. Before modern camcorders were a thing. I was a little jealous of that. But my parents took me down to Florida when I was 15 and it was as exciting as watching Joe’s homemade videos. When we all grew up we all went are separate ways but I was given a strong foundation on what a family should be like. Not just by Joe and Dorothy but all those in that generation on both sides of our family. When I was a teenager I would start sliding down the wrong path from time to time. But I was shown the standards on how to conduct myself. All those observation as a youngster proved invaluable.
I hope I have passed those on to my children.
Prayers and thoughts to the entire Appelbaum family.
God Bless.
R I P, MY FRIEND JOE. I AM THE SAME AGE. “ONE SHORT SLEEP PAST, WE WAKE ETERNALLY.” (John Donne)
