Michael Paul Anthony, 53, former resident of Marquette, MI, passed away peacefully while sleeping in his St. Louis home, the night of May 27, 2021. Beloved husband of Robin Anthony. Devoted father of Luke Anthony, Benjamin Anthony, Jacob Anthony, and Brandon Maher. Loving son of Marilyn Anthony and the late Jim Anthony. Dear brother of Steven (Kathy) Anthony. Favorite Muncle of Carrie (Justin) LaForge, Justin Anthony, and Selena Anthony. Dearest brother in law of Tina (Marv) Joki.
Mike graduated from Michigan’s Negaunee High School in 1985, and earned a computer science degree from Northern Michigan University.
Mike loved to entertain friends and family with backyard barbecues, home movie nights, and on the spot “Putt-Putt” stories he made up. Some of his favorite times were spent hiking with his children, riding his bike along the lakeshore, and traveling with his wife. He had the special ability to light up a room with his jokes and quirky sense of humor, and was always looking for a reason to make someone smile, whether he knew them or not. His genuine sincerity, kindness, strong work ethic, and wise advice will be sorely missed.
Services: Visitation will be held 10 a.m. at St. Christophers Church on Monday, June 7, with the funeral mass following at 11 a.m., 2372 Badger St., Marquette, MI. A memorial service in St. Louis will also be held, date pending. Following the funeral, we will continue to celebrate Mike’s love for life at Presque Isle Pavilion 1-4, 3 Peter White Drive, Marquette, MI.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to either St. Jude’s Hospital or Make a Wish Foundation, because Mike loved kids so much.
Mike was a great man and a good father figure who will be missed dearly. He was a big impact on my life and I hope that I can live up to the example that he set for me and his sons.
My condolences to everyone following Mike’s passing. I got to know Mike when he came to work for me at TASC. Mike brought a lot of knowledge, passion, dedication and certainly humor to the team. I enjoyed when Mike would come to Madison and we could work together face-to-face and also enjoy a cold beverage to talk about whatever came up. I will certainly keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
Mike Anthony, the Beat Man at our wedding and an exceptional friend to both me and to Tab. His laugh was contagious and his heart so kind. Being neighbors for many years we got to know Mike at a young age and watch growing up. I will cherish our talks especially while I cut his hair and also Luke, Ben, and Jake’s too (along with homemade chocolate chip cookies) , yes I spoiled them! You are forever in my heart and will remain there missing him. RIP dear Mike
Mike was always so kind and welcoming to my son Benny and when he would be invited over for a sleepover with his boys he always had the best time! I am so sad to hear of his passing, he truly was a good man in so many ways. My condolences
Mike was one of the better dads us little kids in Marquette had as a group. Always cared about every child that crossed his threshold, always wanted the best for everyone fairly. Condolences to everyone in the Anthony clan from the team at Shibumi. As a founding developer, Mike was instrumental in taking an idea and forming it into a great product. His humor, kindness and intellect made him a great friend and great leader for the whole team. We are all saddened by the loss. He left an indelible mark on our company and on all those who knew him.
We are so deeply sorry. When we lived next door to the Anthonys in the early 70s in the Forest Lane Trailor park in Ishpeming we all made lasting friendships. Just a bunch of young couples with not much money, little kids, and so friendly. Mike was so cute with his snowsuit on, falling in the snow and trying to keep up with all the big kids. We will pray for your family and have you all in our heart
Mike is one of the few truly good men in my life. I have no words to fully and accurately communicate the depth of loss I feel at his untimely passing. One thing I know for sure is that he will always be “FABULOUS!” Love and miss you Mike!

I still wake every day realizing, sadly, that the passing of my friend of 27 years was not a dream. Mike was one of the most decent individuals I have known in my life. He was a brilliant software engineer who absolutely refused to be intimidated (or defeated) by any challenge. Yet, to people he was always friendly, patient and fair. He lived a principled life and I trust passed his values and ethics to the countless individuals whose lives he touched.
He is and will be greatly missed and I have no words to adequately express my condolences to Robin, the balance of his family and all his friends.

So sorry to hear about Mike. I still remember all the good times we had when the kids were young…going camping. I had no idea he was living here in St. Louis. We just live on the other side of the river in

Remembering when Mike was just ‘the little brother’ but already an eager learner and newly-minted computer nerd. We watched him grow up, become a Dad, always remaining a generous son and brother, always with a work ethic that wouldn’t quit. And always thinking of how to handle situations in a way that benefited all involved, sometimes a difficult balancing act.
