Beloved husband of Joan Wecke (nee Allen) for 64 years; dear father of Richard (Patti), Matthew (Linda) and Christopher (Becky); dear grandfather “G-Pa” of Abbey (Dave) Shelley, Alex (Sarah), Steven (Katelyn), Christopher (Hannah) and Katie Wecke; dear great-grandfather of Nora; our dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend.
Mr. Wecke was a member of the USA National Soccer team and 1956 USA Olympian in Melbourne, Australia, member of the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame and Spanish Society Soccer Hall of Fame. Played for the great Kutis Soccer teams in the 50’s and 60’s. Dear friend to the Brown and Doggendorf families and many others in the Carondelet neighborhood.
Services: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. Monday, November 23, 10:30 am until service at 12:30 p.m. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to deGreeff Hospice House/St. Anthony’s Field Hospice Program, 10024 Kennerly Rd., 62128.
