Alice “Ruth” Crafton, born September 29, 1937, in Kansas City, Kansas and died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the age of 78 in Oakville.  She moved to St. Louis while attending the St. Louis City Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for many years as a Registered Nurse for City Hospital, St. Louis Regional Hospital, and a school nurse for the Mehlville School District.  She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Oakville.

Ruth was the beloved wife of George V. Crafton, beloved mother of Benitta (Bruce) Tegg and Alane (Steve) Burch, beloved step-mother to George (Angela) Crafton, beloved grandmother of David (Tiffany) Tegg, Steven (Samantha) Burch, Matthew (Anna) Tegg, Jonathan (Annie) Tegg, Joshua Tegg, Timothy Tegg, Josiah Tegg, Hannah Tegg and Sarah Tegg; Great-grandmother of Lydia, Ava, David, Titus, Charlotte, Mia, Emma and, soon to be born, Zadok; and beloved sister to Martha (Jim) Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan R and Bessie Allistine (Huff) McKinnerney, her son, Velorice William “Val” Crafton, her brothers David McKinnerney, Kenneth McKinnerney and her sisters Marjorie Gerl, and Sylvia Schlecte.

Visitation will be at Kutis Funeral Home, South County Chapel on Sunday, September 18, 2016, from 4 pm to 8 pm, the funeral will be Monday, September 19 at 12 noon and internment will be at Park Lawn Cemetery.
