Schmitz, Ruth C. (nee Hesler) baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection on Thursday, July 21, 2016.

Beloved wife of the late Adam J. Schmitz; loving mother of Dianne (Art) DeLaurier, Gerry (Nancy),  Steven (Susan) and Debbie Schmitz; dear grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 11; dear sister of the late Marion Iglehart; dear aunt,  cousin and friend.

As a stand owner at Soulard  Market, Ruth worked alongside her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for decades and was an avid Cardinals fan.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS  AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois on Wednesday, July 27, 9:30 a.m. to St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. Contributions to American Heart Assoc. (goredforwomen.org) or psp.org (a rare disease that afflicted Ruth’s husband). Visitation Tuesday 4-9 p.m.
