Died peacefully on January 5, 2023 at Mercy South Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born March 13, 1935 in Bonne Terre, MO to Anna (nee Thompson) and Zeno Carrow, who preceded her in death.

She was the cherished youngest child of seven children, George (Gussie) Carrow, Mae Carrow, Chester (Glenda) Carrow, Mary (Bill) Corum, Molly (Tom) Valleroy and Zeno (LaVerne) Carrow.  Only LaVerne survives her.

Corey was a graduate of Bonne Terre High School and a registered nurse having worked at City Hospital, Koch Hospital, Barnes Jewish Hospital, all in St. Louis as well as Kaiser Permanente in Hawaii.  She was also a private duty nurse while she resided in Hawaii.  However, she spent the last fifty years doing the job that she loved the most, being a wonderful mother to six daughters, Julie (Jamie) Holder of Imperial, Debbie (Ken) Brotherton of Imperial, Tracy (Darek) Dunlap of St. Louis, Becky (Zane) Campbell of Kirkwood and Emilie Carls of Affton.  An even more wonderful grandma to twenty grandchildren, Chris (Michaella) Holder; Morgan (Matt) Laude; Kelsey Holder; Laura (Ryan) Armsby; Dan Brotherton; Jen (Joe) Tintera; Matt (Rosetta) Brotherton; Corey, Maddie, Christian and Emma Dunlap and Olivia, Carter, Ella and Mia Campbell.  And the most wonderful great grandma to nine great grandchildren, Annora and Delilah Laude; Tyler, Ava and Sophia Armsby; Zoe Brotherton; Evie and Theo Tintera and Phoebe Brotherton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Art was her passion so in 1996 Corey received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Maryville University. She loved to paint watercolors.

Corey enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends.  She was an avid reader and loved to devour as many books as she could.  She enjoyed music and dancing and was a loving caregiver to her many pets.

Corey spent many summers on Tybee Island, GA and was a loving second “mom” to all the children in the neighborhood.  She never met a stranger and thoroughly enjoyed meeting people and learning their stories.

Corey will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.

Visitation will be held at Kutis Funeral Home (10151 Gravois Rd., St. Louis, MO 63123) on Wednesday, January 11 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 12 at 10 am at Kutis Funeral Home.
