age 73, died on Wednesday December 07, 2022. She was born on April 15, 1949 to the late Thomas and Joan (née Putnam) Stipe in Quincy, IL. She worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 30 years where she held many titles always up for learning something new. She Married the late Gerard “Jerry” Carpentier in 1972 and were happily married for 44 years settling in Columbia, IL to raise their children.Mary Ann loved playing Bingo, especially on Wednesday nights at the America Legion Post 581 and in Las Vegas where her andJerry traveled to often. An avid reader of Mystery and Thrillers among other genres and she loved game shows like the Price Is Right.
Her joyous excepting spirit always drew people to her and she will most be remembered for her loyalty and love for her family.
Survived by her daughter Karie Carpentier, grandson Daniel G. Of Columbia, IL and Son Keith of St. Louis City, MO; Stepsons Jeff (Susan) of Fenton, MO, Jimmy (Jill) of Crestwood, MO, and John (Vicki) of Baldwin, MO; Grandchildren Thomas (Kat) of Waterloo, IL, Daniel W. of Columbia, IL, Emily Callis (Andrew) of Columbia, IL, and Jerry (Jen) of Arnold, MO; Great-Grandchildren Brayden, Silas, Evelyn of Arnold, MO, Howard and Harvey Callis of Columbia, IL; Sister Terry Elmo (Mike) of Florida; Along with nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held at Kutis Funeral Homes, 10151 Gravois RD, St. Louis, MO 63123 on Wednesday December 14, 2022 from 3 pm to 8 pm.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
I loved Mary! Your mom was amazing and always made me feel loved and accepted. She was always so loving, fun and accepting of me! I loved her smile and her laugh! She is at peace now and dancing with your dad. You love both of your parents so very well! Take care of yourself and Daniel! I am praying for you and Daniel as well as the rest of the family!!
She will always be a remembered as a Grandma to our children! Our memories are filled with her laugh and smiling face! Glad she is with Dad!
