Andy was a great guy and long time member of our Silvernail Lunch Group. He will be missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers are with Andy and his family.
What a great guy!
I worked with Andy during the Great Fire Engine Rallies in Forest Park in the late eighties. He and 5 other StLFD luminaries judged the competitions.
We all pass on…
My deepest sympathies, Andy was such a special person!
Andy was amazing, loved working and being around him
Rest In Peace Andy It Was an Honor to work with you
Had the pleasure of working with Andy while at Headquarters in the 90s. Andy was the ultimate professional performing his duties for Fire Chief Svetanics while responding to all the multiple alarm fire in the city and taking charge of all the flag details that the Fire Department performed for numerous events over the years that Andy served. He was a very proud individual and will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace Andy.
Growing up with his daughter Bridget, I have to admit I was always impressed by the kindness and generosity of Mr. Tracy. He was certainly a positive role model in my life.
My deepest sympathies to my friend Kathy and her family.
What a FANTASTIC person. Knew Andy from the SLFD. Condolences to his family.
You either loved Andy or you hated him. I loved him. He reminds me of a fellow Parishioner at our Church. HE GOT THE JOB DONE! He came into Fire Alarm every day but especially when he had a box of Gus’ pretzelss under his arm. Changing the light bulbs had to be done with white gloves. RIP Andy.
Carol, Andy is/was a fantastic gentleman, enjoyed and loved by all. I especially enjoyed his humor. Always loved his being an engineer at St Louis zoo rail line. He truly loved his job at St Louis Zoo and will be sorely missed. So sorry for your loss. God be with you, Carol, in these difficult days. My sympathy and condolences to you and your family
Andy was a mentor to me at the STLFD. Taught me some valuable lessons, that I still use to this day. He used to tell me…”Just do the right thing” (about 20 times a day), and I’m grateful for having the opportunity to know him and he will be sorely missed. His family is in my thoughts during this difficult time. RIP Andy
I worked with Andy’s wife Carol 50 years ago at St. John’s and the nurses who met each other all those years ago still see each other a few times a year. As a young woman, back then, I loved hearing Carol talk about her husband Andy and the fun shenanigans of their young family. Carol eyes lit up when she talked about him. Through the years I got to meet Andy and see first hand what a devoted husband and father he was. In the last few years he would bring Carol to our gatherings. Andy always made sure that Carol was in good hands before bowing out for awhile, and then returning to pick Carol up. Her welfare was at the top of his list of priorities. When I think of Andy I will remember him as a wonderful Dad and husband and of course as a man who took great pride in his role as a firefighter. Peace to all those who will miss him tremendously
My Dad is the one that pulls the Local 73 STFD Float for St.Patrick’s Day Parade every year Andy was there with a huge box of Gus’s Pretzel’s. When my dad was in a really bad truck accident and got out of the hospital and was in the rehab center Andy’s wife was down the hall and he came down to visit my mom and dad a few times. I always seen Andy with a smile on his face and seen him around town at events like the St.Louis Fire Engine Rally. Andy I will make sure we add your name on the Local 73 St .Patrick’’s Day float
I’m so very sorry for your loss. Andy and I worked together at the zoo. What a wonderful person
What a wonderful person.we worked together at the zoo. I’ll miss him immensely
What great times we had with the Tracy crew at the Greenwell house! Family friends for ever and Rita and Carol school friends way before that. Those memories will never be forgotten as Andy was so boisterous he’d never let us forget them anyway! 🙂
Todd, Andy’s favorite in our household by the way, had a birthday in October. He made sure he got him a new batch of St. Louis shirts sent, FD and Zoo. Without them Todd may not have any shirts!! Andy will be missed but his family is strong. They are fantastic.
Greenwell husband and father, Bob, passed away earlier this year so I have no doubt these life long friends are together and having a great time with each other.
I worked for Gus’ for years, and Pretzel Pretzel. He alwase came into the stores with a smile for everyone. He brought up doughnuts from Doughnut Stop every Sunday for years. He would put a smile on your face just by saying hi, and always has a minute to chat with people. He wanted to make sure everyone was doing well at all times. He will deeply missed by the entire St Louis Comunity in one way, or another.
Condolences to your entire family.
You treated me like one of your own children. So kind and he definitely loved his Gus Pretzels. I will never forget all the wonderful times I waited on you and you would always make my day. Thanks Mr Tracy for all the great conversations and advice over the years. You are and always will be a legend in St.Louis and in our hearts.
My deepest condolences. Rest in Peace, sir.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends who adored him. Rest in Peace, sir.
I wish to express my sincere condolences to Carol and the family of Andy Tracy. Andy was truly dedicated in everything he did in life. It was an honor for me to work with Andy in managing the operations of the St. Louis Firefighters and Community Credit Union. Andy served as the secretary/treasure for the credit union over 40 years. Andy was very instrumental in the success of the credit union over the past 40 years. His input in the operation of the credit union will be greatly missed. Andy will be missed even more as a friend!!! I know of no one who had a bigger heart ♥️ than Andy. He truly cared about everyone around him. You are truly missed and loved!!!
Andy was a wonderful guy and a friend.I remember one time I was walking up to my sister house on Farrar St and Andy was coming up the street on the hook and Ladder, stop and gave me a ride in the truck to my sister house. What a good guy he was,he will be surely miss.
Our deepest condolences to Carol and family. Andy was truly a gem and one of a kind. He will be missed by all. He was one of the greatest friends my dad had and we will never forget him.
