Bertram, Rex Allen 60, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center.

Preceded in death by mother Elaine Bertram and nephew Noah Hummer. Survived by wife of 20 years, Julie, father Paul, sister Jill and brother Jeff (Patty) who are parents of Allison Keener (Kyle) and Scott (son Jace) and in-laws Ted and Lari Hummer. Also survived my brother-in-law Matt Hummer (Tara) and their children Dylan, Zoe and Jude; brother-in-law Michael, sister-in-law Nancy (Steve) and their children

Sarah, Mary and Clare and sister-in-law Annie (Scott) and their children Gigi  and Ryan. He was a father figure to his many attendants who he always appreciated and loved.

Rex lived with a spinal cord injury for 42 years and was a tremendous  advocate for disabled persons in St. Louis. He graduated from Law School at the top of his class and was Editor-In-Chief of The St. Louis University Law Journal. He was a real estate attorney with the law firm Bertram and Peper. He loved trivia, was the voice of reason, and a super organized person, helping many friends and clients. He was a devoted uncle to his family whom he dearly loved. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Paraquad of St. Louis or St. Louis University School of Law.

The family wishes to thank the many wonderful nurses and doctors who have cared for him, especially at the end of his life-journey, Lindsay, Kevin and Mark and Drs. Chawla, Naidu and Jones and his home health nurses Anne Tierney and Evelyn Howard.

Services: Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON Chapel, 10151 Gravois, on Thursday, June 16, 4-8 p.m., then taken to St. Lucas United Church of Christ on Denny Rd. on Friday, 9:30 visitation until 10:30 funeral service. Interment private.
