Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Mary Herbst-Nardoni for over 31 years; father to Damiano Herbst and Kim Klepac; brother-in-law of JoAnn Hunt; our dear grandfather, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Bill was born and raised on the Hill. His love of his Italian Heritage and St. Ambrose was evident over the years as he was a baseball, basketball and soccer coach there along with being a Founding Father of Hill 2000. He was proudest of his service to our country in the US Navy. Bill was a Vice President at Southwest Bank where he helped many startup businesses including restaurants and car dealerships. Retiree after 30 years of service as Deputy Water Commissioner for City of St. Louis.
SERVICES: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Road on Thursday, June 23, 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. then taken to St. Ambrose Catholic Church for visitation Friday, June 24, 8:00 a.m. until funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Sick & Elderly Program of the Hill (www.sickandelderly.com) or St. Ambrose Catholic Church appreciated.

Bob and I are so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. He was always a pleasure to run into at many St Mary’s events and we loved his stories. He adored you and will be missed by many. You are in our thoughts and prayers from Ft Worth Texas.

My deepest condolences to the Nardoni family. So sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Nardoni. I first met him when I started with the Water Division. His ability and desire to show up to work years after he could have retired were and inspiration to many.
My deepest condolences Mary. Bill will be extremely missed. I have such great memories of Bill from when I was younger. Everyone loved Bill! Rest in peace.
Bill was a gentle giant!! I will miss his growl when he would ask “what’s happening Chipper”. I will also miss him telling me you need to be patient…. he was the least patient man I knew! Bill had a special way of touching all he came in contact with. He admired Mary and Damiano beyond belief! Though Bill moved on, he will never be forgotten.
Please accept our most heartfelt sympathy and know that we too share in your sorrow and grieve for your loss. Bill is an amazing person whose friendship we’ve enjoyed for more than ½ of our lives. That’s a long time that’s filled with lots of memories, smiles, and laughter; and we suppose it’s going to take all of them to help ease the sadness we’re feeling now – but please, just don’t ask us now.

Bill was a wonderful individual and caring about everyone he met. He was a customer of our business, Standard Lawn and Landscape, and always thankful for our services. I met him in the 70’s and found him to be a respectful businessman, astute in his business dealings. Just a great guy. Reconnected in November when I start mowing lawns as General Manager of the Standard Lawn and Landscape. He will be sorely missed.
