Dear daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy Fortner. Our dear sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Peggy was an active member and leader of Bible Study Fellowship.
Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. Tuesday April 19, 4-8 pm, then to The Crossing at Grant’s Trail, 2760 Union Rd. (63125) on Wed. for visitation at 9:00 am until service at 10:00 am. Interment Sunset Memorial Park. Peggy was a beautiful soul inside and out. She was always there to listen and help you out with any situation. I’m so glad that over the last year we were able to spend some time talking and praying. You will truly be missed by many I love my dear friend….

Peggy, to me you will always be a he sweet teenager who came to live with us in Effingham. Your lively spirit helped me adjust to a new community where I knew no one. I have loved watching you grow into a wonderful adult, mother, and wife. My deepest sympathy to Colin, Dennis and the Fortner family.

Dear Dennis and Colin, we are so sorry for your loss. We were her neighbors when she and Colin lived on Barcroft Woods Ct in Manchester. At that time, we had the privilege to enjoy time with her fairly often. It was a very social neighborhood. Like Mayberry, everyone knew each other. Summer nights would draw out the neighbors to talk in the cul-de-sac and street. Although she was busy as a single mother working for Toyota, she was energetic. She took an interest in people and was never too busy to be neighborly.
Of all the things one could say about Peggy’s life, the most important is that she, fought the good fight of faith, (1 Tim 6:12). In this world of distractions, she maintained her faith in the Savior to the end. How fortunate we are to have had such an example. May our Lord bless her family and friends with the peace that comes from knowing that the grave is not the end but the beginning of an eternity. We shall all be together again and what a celebration it will be!
I will truly miss Peggy and her fun contagious smile at the bowling center. Her cheerleading jumps when she got a strike were epic. Her volunteering to sell 50/50 tickets for the other teams. Her constant checking on my sister Pam who also passed after battling cancer. Peggy you left us the day after Pam’s birthday. Sister to Sister

Peggy and I instantly clicked when I met her at Seeger. We talked from time to time and just enjoyed laughter. I remember when she was getting married….so excited. My prayer is for strength for her husband, son, and family. We will never forget you.
Very sorry to hear about Peggy. Always a good friend and was my next door neighbor when we worked at Seeger for many years. Yes the good old days when it was fun to go to work because of the people we worked with. Thank you Mr Seeger for putting together such a good group of which Peggy was of course an important part. She will be missed.
Dear Dennis, I feel inadequate at times like this. I am afraid that I do not have the gift of words but be assured these words are from the heart and are meant for good.
There is nothing one can say to take away the pain of losing a loved one. Peggy is now without pain and discomfort and with loved ones who have gone before. She is in the presence of the Lord God Almighty. I know there is little I can say to take away the hurt, the loss.
I can tell you that Peggy is still living within your heart and mind. That she will continue to live there forever. That the memories, the shared joy, the lessons learned will remain. That Peggy’s impact on you and others will remain and you will continue the growth of that impact. You may have tears in your eyes, which will be replaced by smiles of remembrance. And you will see her again.
I am blessed and honored to have known Peggy and to have had great conversations with her last October at Rockbridge about our Lord God Almighty and that this world is temporary as we look forward to everlasting life.

We had the distinct honor to buy more than one Toyota from Peggy. She made each interaction pleasant and fun. She was always on call for any questions we had, and expertly helped us navigate the electronics of each new vehicle. She was what we all aspire to be, a person that truly puts others first. Peggy was our favorite and my parents and current family have purchased several cars from Peggy at Seeger. So sorry to hear of her passing but hope she enjoyed her retirement. Our condolences to her family
My Condolences to the family. I am so sorry to hear this, Peggy sold me my 2011 Toyota Avalon in 2010. She went above and beyond to find the exact color I was interested in. She had a heart of gold in doing so and left a lasting impression of what God’s children will do for others. May she Rest In Peace and know that her image will never be tarnished.

I will always remember her as a very particular cook, a lover of good wine and a sweetheart who loved her family and friends fiercely!

I haven’t seen Peggy since we graduated from high school. I am praying for her family during this time of mourning.
